In the case of Gaim, even though there's fruits as theme until you really see it in action it just sounds obscure but so far it's being incorporated so well. (Based on two episodes)

Uh, I'm not sure what your analogy is supposed to mean here, considering that if you turn 360 degrees, you'd have done a full rotation, which means you end up facing the same direction as when you started.

Anyway, I've only seen one episode of Gaim, but the fruit aesthetic isn't exactly bothersome, (except the fact that Gaim's "normal"-looking sword looks out of place compared next to the fruity weapons) And the aesthetic can be pretty cool, like with the weird color effect in the forest.

I've seen nothing in the build up or interviews to indicate they're trying that. Besides, Gatchaman CROWDS just did that.

Honestly it isn't weird that Gaim is making you think that you hate Kamen Rider, bad experiences tend to take prominence. Hell you could probably talk to quite a few Star Wars fans that probably said that franchise became tainted to them after the prequels.

I personally had a similar experience regarding the X-Men a few years ago with the Utopia storyline. The X-Men are without a doubt in my mind my favorite set of fictional characters period. But due to what I saw as mismanagement of the characters I love I didn't read or watch anything X-Men related for for 3 years, give or take. I convinced myself that anything X-Men was just going to be crap and why should I waste my time. The thing is though is that if you love something you'll come at some point. It may not be the same as it once was, but give it time and something will catch your eye and draw you back.

Being a fan doesn't mean all or nothing.

I think the fruit armors could have worked better if they were more subtle. If you removed the green leaves from that Pineapple Armor, or at least make them less prominent, you could pull it off as a set of scuted armor. The Orange Armor is fairly decent; it's the orange slice sword that's stupid.

It also doesn't help when the belts/locks yell out "Orange Arms", "Knight of Spear", etc. in that dumb voice.
