I Played a PS3.

I am just going to tell you how oh so very wrong you are about the wii. For 249.99 you get the wii, all hook ups, the controllers and GAMES. The last time a system came with free games I believe when it was new was the Super Nintendo. And that when it came out was 299.99 or higher.

True, it comes with a game and that game is the best one on the system. And for a system that promotes playing with other people so much, why does it only come with one controller?

IMO, $250 is too much for a Wii Sports machine. Yes, there are some decent games on it, but I've been horribly disappointed in most that I've played. So far Resident Evil 4 is my favorite besides Wii Sports and that's just a port of an old game. (I'll concede Metroid too, but I haven't played it yet)

I'm not saying the Wii is a bad system, but so far the motion control is way more gimmicky than I hoped it would be. I haven't turned mine on in months and if it wasn't for all the Virtual Console games I bought, I'd have sold it by now. I think there's less I'm interested in on it than on any other console.

However since I'm keeping it, I'm definitely looking forward to Mario Galaxy, Dragon Ball Z BT3 and Smash Bros.. I skipped Metroid since I haven't finished MP 1 or 2 yet and i have a lot of other games to play.

For me 250 is worth the price of admission and the perfect starting price point for Nintendo's new system.

Anything lower and it would've seemed cheap.

From a marketing standpoint it makes the system look like it has *just* enough value and in turn puts a hefty amount of profit in Nintendo's pocket which is just good business.

Everything else is just allowed because of the competition, demand and vidoe game tradition.

And 250 is worth it for the Wii in my book. All I really want is Wii Sports and I've a feeling by next year or so we'll be getting a flood of killer apps for the system. I think that it's just in a lull gamewise cuz developers are working on the games to cash in on the sales.

Anyway, back to working on the laptop.

Just give em some time. The controls are a new concept, and they're still learning the ins and outs of it all. Like was previously stated, by next year we'll have many killer apps, and the ps3 may have a few good exclusives.

This past week, my brothers and I were going back and forth between getting a 360 for Halo 3, or getting a PS3. well, we decided on the PS3. for one, we are all HUGE Metal Gear Solid fans. played all but the first one. And its probably the one game that we have been keeping track of ever since PS3/Xbox360/Wii were first announced. and from the trailers and gameplay that I have seen. i think we made the right decision.

But, MGS4 is not the only reason we got it. Devil May Cry 4 is sure to please. and Ive always wanted to play Ninja Gaiden, so getting the latest installment, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, would be great. right now, we only have Resistance: Fall of Man, and i have to say, its a really good game for a launch title. The graphics are really good IMO, the weapons are nice, and the gameplay is good even though it isnt Halo. i havent set up the online stuff yet, so far we have been playing campaign and mutli. so when we set that up, it should get much better. oh, and i cant forget Warhawk, which i heard good things about.

Ive been a sony fan since PS1. PS2 sure didnt disappoint. and i got mine about 3 years after launch. so i could have gotten an xbox for halo as well, but PS2 seem to have more potential. i guess im putting all my eggs into one basket by getting a PS3, cuz you never know what will happen in the future. but, with a track record like Sony, i dont think i will be disappointed, much.

the only complaint i have so far is the controller. i like it, but without rumble, it sometimes feels lacking. but honestly, it isnt as big of an issue as i thought it would be. im so concentrated on the game that i dont really notice it on my PS2, maybe its cuz im used to it. but when i play Resistance, i dont notice the lack of it either. so i guess its all good for me.

the only complaint i have so far is the controller. i like it, but without rumble, it sometimes feels lacking. but honestly, it isnt as big of an issue as i thought it would be. im so concentrated on the game that i dont really notice it on my PS2, maybe its cuz im used to it. but when i play Resistance, i dont notice the lack of it either. so i guess its all good for me.

Weeellllll.... MGS4 is quite likely to end up on the 360. And if you're a Ninja Gaiden fan, Sigma's a remake of Ninja Gaiden 1/Black. The sequal to Ninja Gaiden is exclusive to 360... just saying.

While MGS4 Does seem like it will be put on 360, do NOT keep your hopes up.

Kojima really wants to keep his Metal Gear Solid Series on the PS consoles for now.

Even his remake of the first, was done by someone else, NOT Kojima. Kojima does indeed want to work with the 360 as well, he stated so himself. But he also stated that he wanted to finish what he started on the PS3.
However.
Being a man of the fans, he has interest in porting over a version to the 360 just so that the Fans of the series who opted for a cheaper system, not be out of the fun...


As for the PS3 as a system...

It is hands down the strongest, most powerful console out there. That's just no lie. It can handle and produce much more than the other two consoles currently on the market. It is a great system especially for those who are living IN the Next-Gen, not those who just want a new game system.

The PS3 is definitly for the guy who can spend a thousand dollars without crying, who has that really nice HD-TV with a big stereo system and surround sound. Because that's the guy who will buy the PS3 and REALLY make use of it.

The online capabilities are definitly a plus considering it is free compared to X360.

But.

It is too expensive. It is too hard to program a worthy game for in short time, meaning each epic title would be spaced apart way too much. And there won't be a legendary game for the PS3 untill TWO more years, after they figured out how to REALLY pull the best out of the PS3. Don't believe me?

Ps2's first few games, compared to their latest acheivments. Just go take a look.

But I personally, would love to have a PS3 for all the upcoming games. Most of us here at this forum, I think it's safe to say, are the guys who like RPGs and Japanese Made Games. That's Sony Territory.

But be watchful of the X360. Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, Lost Oddysey and even Beautiful Katamari?
Japan sure as hell is watching X360, and it seems to me they like what they are seeing..,
