I think it was Rangerboard first then Henshin Justice. I was there around the time the intention to make the series was originally announced in 2006. I remember vaguely in 2003, though, something about a Future Dragon Knight.

Fall 2003: "Future Dragon Rider and Power Rangers Reloaded licensed by Disney" article by August Ragone on Henshin Online
What came of it...we now know that "Future Dragon Rider" was dropped disappointing many who were introduced to Ryuki by Japan Hero. However, the part of "Power Rangers Reloaded" did come true. It became Dino Thunder and Jason Frank returned to the PR Franchise.
Between 2003-2006: Multiple rumors, fandom jokes, fandom wishes, fandom ideas, and fandom rants regarding "Masked Rider Dragon Knight"
Late December 2006: 1st Teaser of Kamen Rider Dragon Knight
Summer 2007: Unaired Pilot leaked
Spring 2008: "Let's Ride"...1st Official Trailer of KRDK
(after more debating about Cartoon Network and 4Kids later)
December 13th 2008...An "Un-Kamen" Hero appears...KRDK's preview
January 3, 2009...KRDK officially debuts on CW4Kids.

I remember that Future Dragon Rider stuff too. I remember being happy when the deal with Disney apparently fell through. As for KRDK the first time was when I read the announcements on here

You kept calling "Future Dragon Rider"..."Masked Rider Dragon Knight"...RB and JH didn't start using the MRDK name until the Disney deal fell though.
I remember that much because I recall making a messed up comment regarding the "Future Dragon Rider" title...

IN 2007 (September 13):
The way how I discovered Kamen Rider Dragon Knight was done in accident.
When I was enjoying all the Kamen Rider Den-O and Kabuto AMVS and short clips on Youtube, I simply enjoyed it, then I was researching on ALL Japanese Tokusatsus on the Wikies starting from the Super Sentai, followed by the Metal Heroes and then, I was looking also to the Chouseishin series and then to the Ryukendo and Seven Star Fighter Guyferd alongside the US Tokusatsus Guyvers 1 and 2 the Movie and finally to the very own Power Rangers, with all the seasons and the transitions.
Now, another day , I was trying to remember Dex and Duneas and typed in Wiki, Saban's Masked Rider and then I was enjoying more researches in the Kamen Rider series until, such time, then I saw in the American Adaptations bar :SABAN's MASKED RIDER and the other was
"KAMEN RIDER DRAGON KNIGHT"!
This shocked me for there was a fact that Master Ishinomori Shotaro got insulted by SMR and resulted into a bar the States from doing such things ever (prevent) and then I checked the details and I said to myself "WHAT ON EARTH? THIS CAN'T BE!" and then I went to YOUTUBE and then type KAMEN RIDER DRAGON KNIGHT and I was stunned, for the Trailer was a great and promising, & then I found a guy named ptah13 and sent Youtube messages to his account and he replied with details. That time when I was banned from Nrvnqsr.proboards20.com and I did not yet joined HJU, I was so uncertain of the truth. When I went to Japan Hero, I tried to join them but I fell off the charts, then I typed KAMEN RIDER DRAGON KNIGHT on the Windows Internet Explorer's Yahoo.com and then here we go, I found a Kamen Rider Dragon Knight thread in my currently favorite Website "HENSHIN JUSTICE UNLIMITED" and that is the Kamen Rider Dragon Knight Official Thread. I stepped in the Heroes Zone of HJU and that is when I got in and enjoyed posting with you fellow heroes of HJU. And then I was looking forward last February about it's release date and waited while doing in this forum.

I waited till February and saw the Pilot. The Pilot was fine, in the sense that there were lots of correlations from Ryuki and stuffs but needs more improvement, I mean, look at the way the camera angling was and the acting too. Alas, the sched got moved to April, and waited again. Alas! it was moved to September! However, during those times, I received a message in Youtube from ptah13 and I went to that website as he sent, The website was Veoh and I saw the Official Trailer and that I was blown to bits by the spectacular graphics and the storyline. Then I waited as much as you people do till September that resulted in a negative as the show was changed to 2009 at an unspecified date. This made me say "WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS? CANT THEY GIVE IT TO ME/US SOONER THAN THAT?" and then I made another wait. November came, we all saw Steven post the new release date and I said "NO! That is so far!" until I was
given the news about a worldwide broadcast on 2009 at January 3 here on HJU and there was a SNEAK PEEK on December 13. This gladdened me. and that is how it goes, full story.

Now that you mention it...the history of the "Black Sheep" Rider, Ryuki, has quite a story behind it. From breaking all of Ishinomori's "Rider Rules" in 2002 to being tossed around between networks for the past 5 years.
