How come Shinken Red never closes his mouth

Isn't that really the point of it being subjective? Even if he said no, that wouldn't validate either of your opinions.
Exactly. It's opinion, not fact. Just because one says "It sucks" and the other says "It's awesome" doesn't make either correct. Just look at Roger Ebert. People take his word for the word of god sometimes, and he gave Kick Ass two thumbs down simply because of the nature of Hit Girl and what happens to her, yet I don't see him giving the same treatment to The Exorcist.

Regardless, yes it is all subjective. Though I still fail to see why there's so much more hate for Shinkenger and not as much for any other Sentai of late such as Goseiger. The two major differences in both are the nature of the struggle between the two opposing forces, and the amount of camp in Goseiger over the lack of it in Shinkenger. And I must say, I've yet to see someone try to make the point that increased amounts of camp would make a show or movie better.

Roger Ebert would be the first dude to tell you that he hates having to do the thumb/star ratings, though, and would happily do away with all rating systems if he could. The reason people respect Ebert's opinion is not because they think he's a grand arbiter of taste. It's because he's willing to look at many sides of a product, and describe it on many levels such that even if your opinion is different from his, you will know from reading his review whether or not you will like the product. If you actually read and thought about his full reviews of Kick Ass and The Exorcist, instead of just looking at the star rating, you would probably have a much better idea of where he was coming from.

The trouble is that when you give an opinion of a series where your comments are utterly generic. When you just list off traits like "well fleshed-out characters" "intriguing plot" "story elements that were fascinating and captivating," you're not actually saying anything useful. You're just rattling off dollar-store synonyms for "good." And yes, when you're saying things are "good" and "bad", that is just your opinion.

The thing is, there's absolutely no shame in having an opinion about a thing. Just, if you want other people to be convinced by what you say, you need to learn how to make more cogent arguments.

Thank you.

Sometimes if you make cogent arguments, people who disagree nitpick every detail of it, and then they multi-quote, and it takes up like half the page and that is unbelievably annoying because it's like troll bait and when you don't want to respond they get all "Oh, well you don't want to respond because you're WRONG!" and then you just want to learn how to punch a dude in the face through a computer, but I do think it's important to say why something is good or bad in opinions.

However, it's more important that how you feel is not given by the Internet, but how you yourself feel through the experience you watched.

And to answer the thread title, yes I did notice that a few times in the first episodes.

I mean that quite literally.

Might stop watching it and pick up a new sentai series as my first. Maybe Gaoranger? Red's acting is a little stiff also.

Looks like he's breathe and getting ready to have a sex. :O_O:
