HJU - Talkin' Japanese 101

They'd cheer everytime I used a Japanese word, and we'd often hold up our drinks to say, "KAMPAI!!!"
Be careful with interpreting this and the 'kawaii' part. Japanese often laugh friendly and applaud you not because you use Japanese but because your accent is too funny. Kawaii can also be used in that context, meaning you (as an adult) use the Japanese of a 4-old, which is funny in an endearing way to them. They don't mean anything bad with it, just that it's funny.

Haha, yeah. My brother has been taking Japanese for 3 years and the other day one of his friends brought over a foreign exchange student (she's hot, too!) for him to talk to because they heard he was studying. He did okay, but I really don't speak Japanese. After a while I just started signing to her and she thought that was hilarious, so I felt a little cooler.

I know

Domo Arigato mr. roboto - Thank You Very Much Mr.Robot
Ohayo [O-hi-o] - Hi? Or Good Morning

And #1 rule in japan NEVER say your mom is pretty! (or take any complements!)

How does someone's mom get into a casual conversation? And yes they are modest people. Nothing wrong with modesty.

Just Cuz I read japanese for geeks dosn't mean you can ??? me bolt!
and its true they have STRANGE customs! Oh yeah don't blow your nose in public!

I'll '???' you as long as you keep churning out priceless responses that never make any sense.

Get used to it.

If I ever go to japan, the little phrases I know from watching Toku will be USELESS. I can tell someone they have the magic of courage, or that I'm not human, or to fight against fate...yeah, those'll crop up in everyday conversation. :)

"Konnichiwa!"

"Konnichiwa!"

"Dou shiteru?"

"Mahou! Sore wa seigi no chikara!"

"Nani?"

"Jibun wa...bukiyou desu kara...."

"Eh? Joudan deshou?"

"PAWAA ZENKAI!!!!!!"

*Person slowly walks away*

Exactly. Although I would've said the second two differently, and probably wrong, as "Ningen Janai" and "Unmei o tatakai"
