HJU dubs?

Hmm I might try Ozaki.
What exactly are our lines? Do we say what TVN subs say?

Not exactly, sure you can say the TVN subs, but try to make the line match the lips and match the character. For example, Jan from Gekirangers could have the sub saying "Stop fucking around!" but Jan's character would not say that, and the translation means basically stop screwing around, so you could say "Stop messing around" instead.

Gah Den-O 1 is on my other computer which has a broken PSU.
Damn. If someone could upload a small clip of Ozaki saying something like that part where he tells Miura he can't have Airi cause he's a regular, I could use that to make a sample.

sorry about not putting up my voice over for ep 1, but I tried it yesterday for a bunch of other characters, my voice doesnt really suit any of them :redface2: I think I'll just try for kintaro, it'll give me time to practice my voice for him

I don't want to come off sounding like a jerk, but you have no idea what you're doing.

A proper fandub has a script, you don't just use fansub lines. Also, you don't just go "You'll be this guy and you'll be this guy." You have to hold auditions for the various roles and pick the voices you believe fit best, not just cast your buddies. Doing that will more than likely produce a crappy dub.

When it comes to actually recording lines, you can't just have people record with anything. They need to at least have a decent microphone. Otherwise it sounds horrible.

You will also need the full soundtrack for the series, and your own sound effects. The reason is because to put in the new voices, you pretty much have to remove all of the sound from the video and replace it.

Lastly, you need some good audio/visual editing software to do all this stuff.

That is all.

Dude this is a FANDUB it does not have to be "100% professional". This is not meant to be watched instead of the fansubs. And I did not say use the fan subs as the lines, make the lines match the characters and the lips. Also fan subs basically=normal subs, you can't translate one line into something complete different from a good fansub to a official sub. Thats how professional dubs are done, I know this, I've see interviews, documentaries, and spoken with professional dubbers about this (like Johnny Bosch and Lex Lang).

You think I haven't thought about the mics, the soundtrack, and the software? well guess what I have, I know whats needed. And I don't think most of us have the mics, some of us may have the OST, some of us may have the proper programs, I know my office does and Merc might have it >.>
So you obviously have no idea what we are doing, well at least what I'm doing, so don't say what I know and don't know unless you actually have a clue whats going on or about my knowledge.

And you obviously did not read this thread, I never said once what roles people should be, I only said "do not pick your favorite character, pick a character that your voice actually matches". Please read the thread next time before you rant :redface2:

But you basically just said that he's right and you don't have any of that stuff...?

Not me personally, but I'm sure someone else does, the program we could easily just use Premier or maybe mercs program that she has for fansubbing.

But the point was he sounded like he knew everything and we knew nothing :redface2: proved him wrong though ezpk
