This is the tutorial to make puzzle-ish banner/picture I learn a days ago, hope this'll useful to you guys

I did this on Adobe Photoshop CS2...
---------------------
01. Open/load a photo
02. Ctrl+J to duplicate the layer, to make it easy for further step you can name it 'Puzzle' or whatever
03. Make a new blank layer, again name it whatever you want but in this tutorial I'll call it 'Background color'. Then put it between background layer and 'Puzzle'
04. Fill 'Background color' layer with any color you want, usually I fill it with black(if you don't know how to fill it, then
Edit ->
Fill,
Use with black,
Mode with normal, and
Opacity with 100%)
05. Click 'Puzzle' layer to make it active, then go to
Filter ->
Texture ->
Texturize. Texturize window will pop-up, and then in the right on 'Texture' part, click the arrow button and choose
Load Texture...
06. Browse the texture named Puzzle.psd which placed defaultly on Photoshop installation folder(usually it's placed on C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS2/Presets/Textures/Puzzle.psd)
07. Still on the
Texturizer window, set the
Scaling with 50%,
Relief with 7, and
Light with Top Right; off course you can choose the parameter any amount you want or based on the size of the picture, this is just what I usually chose. Click OK, then you just get yourself a Puzzle-ish picture. If you already satisfy with it, then leave it be and save it, but if you want to make the puzzle looks un-finished/uncompleted, go to the next step
08. Make new blank canvas with size bigger than your puzzled picture, then drag all your work from step 1-7 in this new canvas
09. Make 'Puzzle' layer active again. Choose
Pen Tool, and choose
Path in Option bar above.
10. Zoom the picture so you can see the puzzle pieces. Make a path with the
Pen Tool you chose at step 09 on any piece you want
11. After the path form a puzzle pieces, Ctrl+Enter on keyboard to convert the path into shape, and then Shift+Ctrl+J to make new layer. Named it 'Piece 1' or anything you want
12. On 'Piece 1' layer active, Ctrl+T to move or rotate the layer(or in this case, the puzzle piece) anywhere you want. Press Enter after you satisfy with the position
13. To make a little 3D effect, first make 'Piece 1' layer active. Go to
Layer ->
Layer Style ->
Drop Shadow. Set the
Opacity for 60%,
Angle for 120', unclick the
Global Light,
Distance for 16px,
Spread for 0%, and
Size for 16px. OK to make the piece looks more real with the shadow
14. If you want, repeat from step 09 to make more puzzle pieces. After you satisfy with the result, don't forget to save the picture and then go buy me Chogokin GE-46 Phone Braver 7, LOL
Here's the example of the result:
