Show producer Takadera Shigeki and scriptwriter Ooishi Shinji have been relieved of their duties to the show. Foo Sze Liat is a contributor to one of the newsletters I read. The following excerpts really brings to light that Toei must have their janitorial staff confused with their creative teams..

MAJOR STAFF CHANGE IN HIBIKI TV SERIES:

The main creative team, producer TAKADERA SHIGEKI and scriptwriter OOISHI SHINJI are no longer involved in the TV production.
There are a few reasons for their removal, but the ones that really hit the nail are the poor merchandise sales and sponsors pullout.

The Japanese public has not been very happy with the new direction this “Kamen Rider" is heading and there are criticisms that the movie does not even resemble anything close to the genre we came to know.They have been already been replaced by SHIRAKURA SHINICHIROU and INOUE TOSHIKI respectively.

With their proven track record with Agito and Faiz, it is hope that they can resurrect the series. According to the forum on the Hibiki's movie website (http://hibiki-movie.cocolog-nifty.com/news/2005/09/post_f4f7.html), there's already quite a few changes in the last episode.Gone are the usual Asumu's opening monologues, the Kanji transitions to name a few.Seems like the salvage operation has began.<

So it seems that creating such a series that is so dissentient to Ishimori-san’s original work was a mistake in Toei’s judgment and at that a very costly one.

The upcoming The First movie looks like it will remedy a lot of this disenchantment. But only time will tell.

It's a shame that Hibiki has done so poorly. I've actually liked what I've seen, but then I'm not always the best judge when it comes to what's popular.

Hah, motherfuckers! I told you so! I've been saying this was a crappy show from the fourth episode and people are finally starting to see what I mean. Namely, the entire nation of Japan. I think it's too late to truly "save" Hibiki, but it will be interesting to see what changes they make. I guess. Here's to January 2006.

this sounds REALLY promising. Im almost glad they got fired. I like Hibiki but I've only seen up to episode 13! For one thing, it's been great so far but from what I hear, the plot goes no where. It's just the same shtick episode in and out.

I love the designs and the characters. But it does feel like it needs a change of pace. It doesnt have the same... not sure what to call it. With Ryuki, Faiz, Blade, they all had a plot and a story driving the episodes forward. Hibiki doesnt seem to have that. The only drive is "what crazy antic will Asumu get into next! Ahmagad!"

His power up forms feel just like... "there it is". Like there's no real climatic dilema that forces him to power up. Its just a "stronger oni".

Ah well. Has this happened before on Kamen Rider? Changing writers half way? I hope they can do a great job without destroying the foundations already set.

I lost interest in watching Hibiki starting from 24... hopefully the new change will bring me back in.
I love Hibiki don't get me wrong but I just became less interested as the series progressed.
I'm guessing the reason was because there were no arcs in Hibiki... the whole series was practically one big story unlike the past new gen series' where there were arcs...

Same goes for me. Although I did like a lot of the fights, some seemed repetitive.

I'm amazed to see Hibiki doing poorly, since I didn't really like it either. I lost interest starting from Episode 3. It's just not the "Kamen Rider" I was hoping for!!

What I didn't like about Hibiki, was the lack of... well.. anything going on in the show really!! It was just "empty" (if you know what I mean ).
