So it comes down to G3(-X) vs. IXA'86 for weakest link and here I always thought it was G3 vs. Scissors.

Weakest link is Ryuki from...well...Ryuki. My favorite part of Decade was how accurate it was there: EVERY time he became Ryuki, he lost.

G3 wasn't a powerful Rider until Shouichi trashed his armor and Ozawa upgraded it. After that, dude worked hard for his victories, but he WON.

Ryuki's problem wasn't being weak in any obvious, story-related way. Shinji was just a guy who was really, really bad at being a superhero.

Ryuki as a show tended to be written as a bit of an idiot plot, really heavy on coincidences and people doing convenient dumb things, but Shinji went way beyond that. He did dumb things constantly, all the time, even when they did not advance the plot at all.

Ryuki is strong, shinji wasn't trying hard enough. But if ryuki blank form is counted, then it is the weakest

Truth. But I can't help thinking Kenzaki or Shouichi would've just stomped their opponents (and not killed them, 'cause that's possible, even though Shinji seemed to think it wasn't), jacked their decks and chucked them out of Mirror World.

That having been said, I won't say that's the problem with the show itself, but it's MY problem with the show. Can you (or anyone, actually) think of any big victory for Shinji that wasn't specifically story-related? (Someone's going to say he beat Odin, but...again...story-related.)

Uh-uh. G3-X without limiter STOMPED Unknowns. If that don't count, then "Shinji wasn't trying" doesn't either.

Isn't that a bit of an oxy-moron? It's a narrative. Every time he wins it's supposed to be kinda important to the story. And if he beat a random monster, you wouldn't call that a big victory now would you?

...When I said "big victory"...I meant, "a victory". Shinji's success rate is terrible.
