Gamera Appreciation Thread

Man, I'm watching the Heisei Gamera movies and they are awesome! I just finished Gamera 2 Advent of Legion and it was pretty sweet. Legion is a really well designed kaiju. I'm not a big Gamera fan, but these movies are really well done.

So does anyone here like the Gamera trilogy or all the Gamera movies?

I was literally just about to add to my Godzilla/Kaiju thread about this.

I caught The Brave & Guardian of the universe. The Brave left a bad taste in my mouth but Guardian really picked things back up for me with Gamera. I really didn't know Gamera could walk on 2 legs, since he is a turtle and all.

Excellent city model work aswell, loved the destruction of Tokyo Tower. Gyos reminds me of a stronger version of Rodan.

Gonna watch Gamera II & III tonight.

Yeah the city model work in these movies are really good. A lot better than the model work in some Godzilla movies.

I like Gamera almost as much as i do Godzilla, the Trillogy is really well written, well casted and had a very good Director. The Special FX were really spectacular and really brought Gamera to life, you can tell they seriously tried to replicate it in GMK (an equaly awesome film).

The director Shusuke Kaneko really made Gamera look badass(same for Godzilla) He should really make another kaiju film one day

he did Ultraman Max also, so yeah the guy really needs to do more Kaiju Movies.:buttrock:

Gyaos was in G: Guardian of the Universe and G vs. Gyaos, as far as I know. I like this bird alot, did alot more than Rodan did in his solo movie.
