Happy 15th Resident Evil

I've been looking for a decent copy of Code Veronica for a while. I'd love to play through the old-style RE games again.

I loved RE4, I mean by gaming standards it was pretty amazing... but I think I would've enjoyed it more had it not been a Resident Evil title. But then again, when it comes to RE I'm stubborn and I want my tank controls. >_>

This summer RECVX is coming to XBL and PSN in HD :P

Yeah, I don't have a PS3 or 360 but I'll just pick up the PS2 version someday. Or maybe the Dreamcast one when I finally get one of those.

I'm thinking of ordering a copy of RE2 for Dreamcast. I know it's basically the same as the Gamecube version, but I despise the Gamecube controller with a passion. Plus, the Dreamcast is just an overall cooler console.

Yeah, i have RE2 and RE3 for DC and they rock!
3 more so since you get every bonus outfit from the get go.

Of the original RE series (ps1), I prefer 1. I didn't like 2 as much mainly because I didn't get as scared as I did during the 1st game, nothing really caught me by surprise. Though overall part 4 is the best. A different way to play plus I got to replay mercenaries which I really loved.

See I didn't like 4. It was straight up action. There was nothing horror about it really. It was just a bunch of things rushing you all at once. Part of the scary factor of the original games is that you don't know what's around the next corner. All that said... I would take RE4 over RE5 any day.

Well, the only really scary points of RE4 or 5 is when you havent turned your back in awhile after engaging enemies that have been in your line of sight, then you turn around and BAM they're there. But yeah it wasnt like the originals, when things popped out at you but that can be attributed by the whole 3rd person over the shoulder view giving you more range of view.

By the 2nd game I wasnt as scared as part 1 mainly because I had beat the first one to death, so I was rather desensitized. Plus by the time I actually bought RE2, Silent Hill had come out and that game by far was scarier.

I love RE, 5 is my favorite game followed by 3,Code Veronica then REmake and my favorite characters are the Redfields,Sheva Alomar,Rebecca Chambers and Jill Valentine.

and am I the only one who thinks RE's change to an action-shooter made sense considering that the player characters are soldiers*or a government agent in Leon's case* and/or experienced in fighting BOWs by that time? IMO the only way to revert the gameplay to the tank controls would be to bring in a new cast.
