Happy 15th Resident Evil

I love RE, 5 is my favorite game followed by 3,Code Veronica then REmake and my favorite characters are the Redfields,Sheva Alomar,Rebecca Chambers and Jill Valentine.

and am I the only one who thinks RE's change to an action-shooter made sense considering that the player characters are soldiers*or a government agent in Leon's case* and/or experienced in fighting BOWs by that time? IMO the only way to revert the gameplay to the tank controls would be to bring in a new cast.

Honestly I don't see how anyone, who likes good games, could even play RE5. The story was crap. The AI for Sheeva was for ****, so you could only really play correctly if you had another human player. The fact they did the "you can't move and shoot" yet again was damn lame. What they did to Jill was just disgusting.

No you are wrong there. They could do good old RE gameplay that is creepy and such IF... They had a good story and set up events. They didn't do that with RE5. RE5 is awful, and I hope they NEVER do anything like that again.

Well I liked RE5's story, the AI is'nt a problem if you give it a decent gun,I'm glad they didn't do that personally,I'm confused what exactly did they do to Jill that pisses off fans so much? All they did was turn her blonde.

Well hate to tell ya this but RE has sold better as a shooter than a Horror game RE5 especially sold really well and was positively received by critics and a majority of fans, so better get used to it.

AI is a problem. The gun has nothing to do with it. Jill was used poorly in RE5. It's just an opinion thing.

It sold well to a Majority of shooter fans yes. Most of the people I talked to when they were praising RE5, didn't even know who Jill was. When I asked them what they thought of RE1, RE2, ore even CVX, they had no idea because they had never played them. Also I could give a rats ounce of piss about what critics have to say. And contrary to what you said, there are many critics that didn't like the game, but again who cares what critics think?

You like RE as a shooter. More power to you. But what set RE apart was that it WAS survival horror. It was unique. Now RE is nothing more than a generic action shooter. And oh boy there sure aren't a lot of those now are there </scarcasm>

But giving it a magnum does increase it's likelihood of survival. Yeah just opinions here, I ain't trying to start a fight here just saying I like the game and this coming from a Jill fan. :P Yes but the majority gave it positive reviews*personally I'm like you don't give a rat's ass what critics think but the developers/publishers do :rolleyes2:*

RE was unique when it first releashed yes but it inspired a lot of clones and sales slumped after CV.*though I suppose you could say the shitty and poorly made spin-offs that came after played a major factor kind of like how Capcom kept updating SF2 every few years didn't help it's rep* So RE4 became a shooter probably to appeal to a wider audience though it was still different from other shooters at the time thus still somewhat unique but like with anything successful other developers copied it with varying degrees of success. Thus by the time RE5 came out the gameplay had staled.

Just wanted to throw my two cents in :)

Resident Evil as a game fanchise is truley amazing, sadly to admit I like/can tolerate the filmes (Love the 2nd and the most recent one, and the CGI one is pretty cool).

I remember my uncle buying resident evil 2 on release day, but he had also given his playstation to a friend to get 'chiped' so he let me borrow it, I must of been about 8 or 9, it completly scared the crap out of me, it wasn't the fighting the zombies/monsters it wast just the arms coming through the windows/boards.

I think over the years Resident Evil has lost its scare but that could just be me growing up and not being scared of things like that anynore ive only ever played, Resident Evil Directors Cut, 2, 3 and 5 (also the 1st game's remake on Gamecube and DS too) and with no 4 set to be released on XBL I plan on picking it up :)
