-Five Days Ago-
Crystal had always been a careful kind of girl. She had it drilled into her since she was young to never walk alone at night and always walk in a well lit area. Unfortunatly she was breaking both rules right now. Her date started out well enough, but when her date wanted to move faster than she did, she said "no", and he demanded she get out of his car. So there she was, in an unfamiliar part of town, walking the the street alone. "At least it's sorta well lit", she tried to convince herself.
She never saw it coming. A hand, then arm reached out of the alleyway and pulled her in. The blackness swallowing her. His grip, to strong to pull away, she had no choise, but to be dragged into the dark alley.
She could feel him, more than see him. A big brute of a man, the smell of desperation oozing from him mixed with....something else. His big hands grabbing both of her arms, holding her down....powerless to do anything about it. She knew what was happening even before she felt her dress being lifted up. Time seemed to slow to a crawl as her eyes started to adjust to the darkness. She could just barely make out his form, as he started to rip her dress. He also seemed to be talking to himself. In a stark-raving mad kind of way. Crystal could just kick herself at the moment. She went from halting the advances of a very attractive man, to about to be raped from a big, hulking, raving lunitic!
Suddenly she thought she caught something out of the corner of her eye. She thought she was seeing things, but the small blue circle of light started glowing brighter, as it hovered at the end of the alley. Then it started moving towards her. The psychopath noticed it to, because he became much more intrested in the blue light than in her. Crystal thought she must be going crazy herself because the madman was somehow changing...growing even. Then with blinding speed, the blue light rushed up and passed her. The would-be rapist's tight grip loosened. In fact he seemed to fall down as she was sprayed with something wet and sticky. Then she realized what it was, as the smell hit her nostrils. Blood!
As Crystal's brain tried to proccess what had happened in life in the past 5 minuets, she again noticed the blue circle of light facing her. Although this time she could see it much more clearly now. The blue circle seemed to be around some metalic orb on some spiky helmet. In fact, it looked like a black knight from hell. Then without a word, he jumped three stories onto the roof of the building, just a bright flashlight filled the alley with blinding light.
There she was, like a deer trapped in headlights, covered in blood, as the body of what could only be described as a monster bubbled and melted away on the pavement. Then everything went black.
.............
Officer Wayford hadn't been on this beat for that long. And despite the apperances, this section of town wasn't as bad as the rep suggested it. There hadn't even been a jay-walker in the three months he'd been here. Then he heard the blood curtaling scream of a woman. He raced the block and a half towards the scream. Just as he turned the corner into the alley he could have sworn he saw some dark figure just jump straight up into the air. But when he lit up the alley with his flashlight, all there was was a cute blond, covered in what looked like blood and some ape looking thing split in half on the ground. And to make matters stranger, the ape thing started to melt away and disappear! That's when Officer Wayford started making his way towards the now quiet girl. Then she promptly fainted into his arms.
As he started to call for an amblance on his radio he though, "How the hell am I EVER going to explain this!?!"
