Godzilla (2014) Discussion

I've seen the original alright and for me, that's the best Godzilla for its spectacle (no CGI effects, only camera tricks, rubber suits) and hidden message regarding nuclear disaster. This 2014 has more human interaction than Final Wars and that's the problem right now. This and so many fanatics defending it to death are the reasons not all people are impressed by the overall reaction. Would like a movie like James Bond with no James Bond in it or Ultraman appearing late an hour later? I already give away my two cents here: the visual effects are good, no political messages involved, the character development is good but the fight scenes are similar to Batman Begins (revolting editing) and so-called Bryan Cranston bait and switch. Plus, the "Cloverfield" MUTO is not creative. Did I say this movie is bad? No but still it's not good for some aspects.

No I'm just saying your reasons for not wanting to call it Godzilla are strange and flimsy at best.

You confuse me, you say the original was the best and you say Godzilla 2014 wasnt that great due to the lack of Godzilla...yet the original also had an extreme lack of Godzilla.....and the MUTO not creative? Er....remind me how creative Rodan, mechagodzilla and Mothra are?

How many Godzilla movies have you actually seen? Cause i cant imagine you've seen many outside the original(but then again if you've seen and love the original then you should have almost no problem with Godzilla 2014). The thing about Godzilla movies is they generally(but not always) almost always about the human characters, especially the showa era. Godzilla movies usually focus more on the humans, humanities struggle to defeat or avoid Godzilla and in some cases help him defeat a great threat(thats probably part of the reason he hates, mankind cant decide if we love or hate Godzilla). In some respects Godzilla films are more of human dramas than giant monsters films I havent timed it exactly, but you probably see more Godzilla in this movie than you do in the original(thus showing faults in your reasoning on why you love the original Godzilla and not this one)

You don't have to like this movie. But your logic is very flawed, you clearly didnt think out your reason, and bringing up your reason why you like the original Godzilla certainly didnt help you, in fact it worked against you.

But Dr.Kain nailed it on the head. Gareth Edwards has been a longtime fan of Godzilla since his childhood, and it shows. He knows his source material and he made a Godzilla by definition word for word. And I've literally watched every Godzilla film and fairly often do i pop in one of my DVD's and re-watch them.
