my problem with hal is that he used to be about redeeming himself in the eyes of the world, sacrificing his life to restart the sun, giving up heaven to become the new specter were greater plot points, all of a sudden,

The problem is the WHOLE Green Lantern mythology can come off more interesting then Hal. With stories Like Mogo, the F sharp-Bell, the Tomar-re story where he fails to save Krypton, Kyle Rayner Stories with him as Ion, and some of the Marz stuff was actually quite good, Plus his time in the JLA he oozed awesomess, then you have Green Lantern Mosaic with John Stewart, which is a bit of a cult classic, plus most tales of the Green Lantern corps are really inventive and quite fun like that annual that was part of the lost earth event,then theres the Guy Gardner stories which if you like Guy their a Blast.
