Gingaman is definitely underrated Sentai series!

I watched only the 1st episode before I didn't have time to watch it anymore T__T

my first impressions were it was all right... the green ranger reminds me, or rather looks exactly like Ayase from Timeranger O_o

and the female villain reminds me of Koda Kumi <3 lol

Wtf? lol In episode 4 Moak couldn't contact hikaru on the building while he was fighting...yet when he was not fighting he was able to contact him??

This show is good, I'm on Ep.5 now. This won't be an every ep comment thing, but so far so good.

The Seijuuken's are one of my top fav. weapons of all time. Even if this show was horrible those would be a saving grace.

Don't you mean Batbas and Budo? And Batbas isn't a machine, his army is just industry themed. I don't know where you got that he himself is mechanical. [/quote

Batbas, yes. I don't know where I got Barbarax from. As for Budo, yep, wow, I cannot believe I got that wrong too. Then again, I haven't watched the series in several years. As for Batbas, I always thought he was a machine in the same way Prince Biznella was.

Hayate/GingaGreen was the one with tomato problems. I still don't get what that was about. Did he just not like them?

Agreed.

How?? I never understood how people think the suits are so bad. What is so wrong with them? I for one like the blend of white and their respective colors.

I think it has to deal with them looking like Charlie Brown's shirt. That zigzag just doesn't work for me. Get rid of the zag, and I would probably like them a lot more.

Making them mechanical 1005 of the time would defeat the point of the premise. The Seiju are sentient intergalactic animals. And how are the Galaxy Lights lackluster? I got the Gingaioh armor set this past weekend and I find it quite nice. It makes it look even more like the "king" it's intended to be.

I just wished they added something better to the design. I like the chest armor, but the ranger suits seem quite weak with just an additional bracelet.

Toshihiko Sahashi has composed some of the best music in tokusatsu, the Gingaman soundtrack included. Part of the reason I have rewatched the show so many times is I believe the music, because as you say it's not among the best Sentais.

I like some tracks, especially those dealing with the Balban. However, I just feel the opening theme is lackluster (and don't get me started on the horrible ending theme). I just don't find the music to be as engaging as the music in DaiRanger, KakuRanger, and MegaRanger. To be honest, I don't even remember a lot of the music when I don't watch the show, which is troublesome at times.

BTW, I went to the site with the fansubs and was wondering, why is episode 1 the only one with a torrent?

I think a lot of the problem is the cultural disconnect involved with the design.

A Japanese sees the white and the zigzag and they go, "Oh, they're Super Ainu! That's awesome!"

Those of us not-Japanese see it and we go for the only place we have really seen that kind of design in a memorable context and... well... Good Grief.

Love teh bewbz!

**** that. The internet has NO shortage of negativity, with every so called "intelligent" fan wanting to offer everyone their two cents on why this or that is terrible. If a few people want to express genuine excitement, it boggles my mind why people would shout that down but allow the dozens of "What's your least favorite/Why this sucks" threads.

I truly enjoy Gingaman thus far. I'm seventeen episodes in (HnT, thanks), and things are pretty good. They take their time introducing things, and seeing the Gingaman go eight episodes before creating their mecha threw me way off guard. The kaiju look is really interesting, as well. It works here, even though I usually I'm no fan of kaiju.

This.

I mean, 555 had a decent premiere and look how that turned out. :loltongue:

Faiz turned out great, the finale was **** though. I think the only real time I've started out enjoying then disliking a series was with Super 1, Akumaizer 3, and Jiban.

Aw, c'mon -- Gouki's supposed to be the gentle giant. He knows when it's time to kick ass, though.

And Gouki's probably the best match for Jiro Okamoto to play in-suit.

Ya I always thouught that aswell. I'd like to see a pic of them standing together to see the size similarities.

How?? I never understood how people think the suits are so bad. What is so wrong with them? I for one like the blend of white and their respective colors.

I never understood either. Don't get me started on that Charlie Brown bullshit.

I might take that to heart if it were written correctly >>

Take it to heart either way because it's the truth.

Kinda killing my joke. >>

I didn't say he did, just.... read my post again. :shakefist

If you'd made the point on your own I might've agreed with you, actually. But it came from something Black Fang says and all he ever does is complain in threads and call anyone who has fun watching stuff stupid.

Yea, I will. I do see that though. In ranger form he really brings out the Gingorilla in him.

Wait until you see him solo a monster as GingaBlue then with Gingorilla. :D

The Seijuuken's are one of my top fav. weapons of all time. Even if this show was horrible those would be a saving grace.

One thing I enjoy about Gingaman is the variety of weapons they have. Wait until they get the Juugekibou.

It was never implied anywhere though.

What the hell is the big deal about a zigzag? Is it really that jarring to people? A pure white chest is what would have looked bad.

I just wished they added something better to the design. I like the chest armor, but the ranger suits seem quite weak with just an additional bracelet.

What chest armor? There is no chest armor.

I like some tracks, especially those dealing with the Balban. However, I just feel the opening theme is lackluster (and don't get me started on the horrible ending theme).

This is another thing I don't understand. Am I the only one who likes Ginga's ED and Gaoranger's Hibi no Shirabe? What's a good ED theme to you then?

I just don't find the music to be as engaging as the music in DaiRanger, KakuRanger, and MegaRanger. To be honest, I don't even remember a lot of the music when I don't watch the show, which is troublesome at times.

Then go download the soundtrack and listen to it again.

If you'd made the point on your own I might've agreed with you, actually. But it came from something Black Fang says and all he ever does is complain in threads and call anyone who has fun watching stuff stupid.

Making threads that go crazy over a scant amount of episodes of a show you've barely started is stupid. (Nothing against you personally, Matrix, but this is a trend I've seen here.) It makes you look silly. Maybe I'm the only one here who thinks that, but I'm going to say it anyway.

The ending themes I like:

AbaRanger's
KakuRanger's

Actually, I think that is it. I hate ending themes to almost every Japanese series now that I think of it. They are so slow moving, melodramatic, and happy go lucky. I need something quick, mechanical (or classical), without lyrics. I think that is what I hate most about the Gingaman ending theme, the lyrics, or rather, the singer. His voice is just so boring. It sounds like a song Bob Dylan or Barry Manilow would sing.
