Apparently most of those were Bandai's idea and Imagawa fought to keep the "worst" ones out of the show.

So somewhere, on some discarded Bandai drawing board, is a Gundam design somehow more racist than Tequila Gundam.

Food for thought.

Personally I always like Maxter since with it's hodgepodge of various themes it came off as violently American. I mean it was a surfing boxer that also played football while expressing it's right to bear arms all the while being red, white and blue.

Hey now! Neo Netherlands fielded forty-three Nether Gundams against Devil Gundam at the very end!

I'm sure they did... something! Forty-three times!

An armada of Fish and Windmills fighting the Devil Gundam Colony is one of my favorite scenes from that show.

Forgive me for being negative, but this news does not excite me at all. In fact, I personally think G Gundam was one of the worst Gundam series of all time. If I want to see epic fights and golden transformations, I'll stick with DBZ. Not to mention the plot holes that make my head hurt harder than a week of working for 8 hours a day.

But isn't Rising Gundam a female also?

Rising Gundam is "male", although its main weapons (naginata and bow & arrow) tend to be associated with women in Japan.

Uh... Call me crazy, but aren't Gundams machines? Despite their designs, I don't think they actually have genders. Only the pilots do. Unless of course I missed that special on the Discovery channel about the mating rituals of wild Gundam mechas. :laugh:

I saw this show as a Street fighter like show with mecha fights.Giant robot fights ,plus black oily spandex thingys and Domon's story make it unique among the others which are all war dramas of some degree. This was after that for an Olympics like deal. Whether it's my nostalgia clouding my judgment , i thought it was really good and fresh, not serious that much. In fact it was kinda like Speed Racer with the whole brother arc in it.

Can't wait for manga.

There's only one thing that I'm really looking forward to in terms of this "new" manga. Reading about how Domon loses.
99% of G Gundam was all about him and his winning streak into the Tournament of Gundams. It be interesting to see who is about to top him, and how.
