Frustrated over trying to buy the perfect laptop!

Right now I'm feeling really fucking frustrated as I'm planning on buying a new Core 2 Duo laptop hopefully in time for Xmas and I was originally planning on buying a 17" one but I'm in two minds now as I'm not too sure whether it would be overkill for things like website design as well as things like MMORPG's such as Phantasy Star Online and Ragnarok Online [I just love my Asian MMORPG's...]

If I do get a 15.4" one, I still have to decide whether to go for one with integrated graphics and upgrade the graphics at a later date using a plugin card or get a laptop with a dedicated graphics card built in, also I have to decide what brand as well and I know I definitely don't want a Acer or a Fujitsu-Siemens as they have a bad reputation when it comes to PC's and laptops...

I find the irony delicious that I've done courses in IT, I can build computers and I'm planning on doing my CCNA exams next year [this is the main reason why I'm buying the laptop in the first place so I can do my revision on it instead of in front of my main PC screen...] and yet I'm stuck in deciding what to buy, laptop-wise...

Get a Sony Vaio since i have a friend who uses it to play his MMORPG games as well as doing his work on it .... My friend says it is very very versatile but i don't really know since i don't own a Vaio ...

I say flip a coin between every option until you finally get down to the last one.

Or

Even better advice would be, wait until JFC reads this thread and replies.

My advice would be to do some research and think through what laptop do u want carefully. Don't just buy a laptop without careful consideration coz u just might regret what u buy later on. For starters, if Sony's too expensive for u, then find a branded laptop that meets your specs and also take into consideration your budget as well before purchasing ...

I'm seriously looking at asking one of my friends in the US if they could get hold of a laptop for me if I forwarded them the money via PayPal as I could get a laptop with the specs that I need for a damn sight cheaper than I would in the UK thanks to the Dollar being over $2.00 for every £1.00 here...

If I did, I'd look at either getting a Dell with a dedicated Graphics card or another brand like a Toshiba but definitely not a Fujitsu-Siemens or a Acer...

My budget would probably be $1,000-$1,100 including postage and packing to the UK and any other charges for a laptop with the following specs if I was to get it from the US thru a friend:

15.4" WXGA or SXGA screen
160GB or bigger hard drive
built-in Bluetooth
Dedicated Graphics Card [I decided to go with a dedicated graphics card instead of integrated graphics]
Core2Duo Processor with at least a 1.5ghz or faster processor

If I bought one with a similar spec in the UK, it would cost me nearly £600 UK Pounds, that's why if I bought one from the US even with postage and packing, it would work out cheaper...

[Wonders what JFC would recommend...]
