Freddy Vs. Michael

New Line is pursuing two options for the next Elm Street flick. Option one, a solo pic where Freddy terrorizes a young sexy couple. Yawn. Option two, Freddy vs. Michael!

You know, I'd like to see that. We've always wondered who would win in a big fight between all the horror killers. Okay, so Freddy vs. Jason didn't quite answer that, but it was still silly fun to watch.

*adds Freddy vs. Jason to Netflicks*

You know, I remember begging for this movie to be made since fwickin' the 3rd Grade and when it finally landed.. I didn't see it.

I gotta check that out.

Michael?? You mean from Halloween? That is so freaking lame. I never was a fan of the Halloween movie series. Does Michael even have special abilities? He's just some dude in a mask as far as I know. At least Jason had some nice mythos to him. Why not Freddy Vs The Leprechaun or something. That would be awesome!

I loved Freddy vs Jason, though. None of my buds wanted to see that movie when it came out so I ended up waiting for a dvd release. It was great fun. Not the best of endings but it was fun.

If they do Freddy vs. Michael, not only will it be lame, it will be lame and **** with the respectable credibility of Rob Zombie's Halloween remake. Why don't they just put the Elm Street series to bed? There's only like 2 good films in the entire franchise.

"Respectable credibility"? I'd respect him more if he told the producers to shove the idea of a remake. I like Zombie and agree with a lot of his opinions on horror films, but Halloween's shaping up to be just another forgettable remake. Didn't they learn after marring Texas Chain Saw Massacre? (Speaking of credibility, I have no idea how credible it is, but the script review at AICN for the remake didn't sound promising in the slightest. Zombie aims too low and for the obvious with his movies, with his attempts to "shock" viewers).

But I also doubt the authenticity of a Freddy VS Michael when they're pushing for a revamp of the latter.

That's not true...there's three and a half to be exact. :P

Why not Freddy Vs The Leprechaun

Nothing would beat a Chucky VS Leprechaun. I think that idea was blown to hell after "Leprechaun VS Ice-T."

No offense but a lot of what I've seen on Mr. Zombie's remake doesn't make it seem all to credible, but I agree Freddy needs someone who actually talks to fight---- wait no scratch that, the dialog for Freddy vs Jason sucked. Just get someone else to right the script this time and keep Ronny Yu as the director with john carpenter and was craven as consultants. I gotta the original was a pleasant surprise although I can't agree with some Sam Rami's and Bruce Campbell's reasoning for keeping Ash away from these films.

What about Freddy Vs The Transformers! O_O just imagine the carnage of freddy ripping out their circuits in their nightmares. Decepticons are attacked by fluffy stuffed bunnies. It's brilliant!

I don't think Freddy can beat Michael. If Jason, who's a bit shorter than Michael, can still kick Freddy's butt, then what chance does the man from Elm Street has against Mr. Halloween?

The great match-up would be Freddy Krueger vs Doggy Krueger, or Freddy vs Michael...Joe.

Considering that 7 of the 8 Halloween films have been complete ****, I see Zombie's film as a chance to redeem the series and restore that credibility to it (while hopefully putting an end to it). I'd much rather see a Halloween film done in a filthy, shocking manner (the way it should be) over some rapper-laced reality show or ridiculous excuse for Michael's backstory. Perhaps you're prefer a continuation of Season of the Witch?
