Finally Started On RPM...

I'd like to see themed weeks like they did in the good ol' days. 'True Blue' week and all that.

No joke, they might do that.

I realize..when Nicktoons is bored, they do stupid ****. For example, Avatar: The Last Air Bender officially ended 3 years ago, but they're showing it like it's new. Just last week they had a Earth Bender Weekend Marathon thing, and before that Water Bender etc.

So when a channel tries to milk every drop out of a show they do unnecessary gimmicky marathons.

So that has a strong chance of happening.

Oh God, I love you for posting that! I totally forgot about beating the heat with the digi-beat.

That's weird... since when they were airing those episodes for the first time they were almost beaten by the DVD release. Seemed like they never aired the show, much less a new episode. I guess this is to help promote the movie.

^ Q, That's highly likely too, yea.

I mean you like I said Avatar ended 3 years ago, some new kids don't know it want to know it, some followers need a refreshment. So these "AcTiOn pACkEd!" weekends make sense..in a way.

Okay, ten episodes in and I'm still not sure what to think of this series beyond "this is frickin' WEIRD".

I am enjoying it for the most part, but several things in particular stick in my mind so far:

Ziggy = Still Most Annoying Ranger Ever but they're pushing him to the background more, so I can deal with him.

Summer's backstory is kind of interesting but, even though it was a two-parter, it still felt like the situation surrounding it was solved just a little too easily (and in a very 80s sitcom kinda way).

Flynn... I actually like Flynn since, so far, he's been the only one of the original three to get an on-screen justification as to why he got picked for the Ranger Program, though they do hammer the "AH'M SCO'ISH!" button a little hard at times.

Scott is kind of a non-entity at this point, which is a REALLY WEIRD way for a Sentai OR a Power Rangers show to treat its Red Ranger. He does have the "my brother is DEEEEEEAD!!!!!1" backstory but it never really feels like they're doing anything with it beyond that one focus episode.

Dylan has also done a really weird background fade after the initial story arc that set-up his character. I'm... okay with him but I have a sneaking suspicion I know one of the SHOCKING TWISTS involving him that's going to come up later in the series.

Tenaya 7... I can think of two reasons why she was picked for the role (and not the two you're thinking of, perverts :nono: ).

One is her unquestionably skilled stunt work, which has helped the action sequences, and the other is... okay, yeah, she is kinda nice to look at.

They sure as hell didn't hire her for her acting ability, which hovers around the range of Lothors' annoying nieces and sometimes dips into sub-Vypra levels (without Vypra's excuse of "mostly acting her scenes in a void").

One final thing for now: Good god, did they HAVE to go with the shakey-cam style of shooting for the US action footage? It's annoying on its own but it makes the jump from the US to the much more... smooth looking, Japanese footage stand out more.

That's all I got for now, may post more thoughts as I get further in.

I think RPM had horrendous action scenes. Very boring stuff, tried too hard to be cool and just came off as anti-climatic and drawn out. There was a few fun moments here and there when it came to improvised weapon but the 15 minutes mook fights were just background noise for me most of the time.

I much prefer the quick paced action packed 2 minutes Go-onger fights.
