Final Fantas...wait it comes out next tuesday!?

I already owned the Japanese Version but it's currently with my friend.
she's going to get the Fabula Crystallis (whatever it was called) set, so I'd definitely check out the English Version when she has it.

I'd REALLY like to grab this since I missed FFXII. But now that I'm playing Star Ocean:TLH and have Tales of Vesperia lined up right behind it, I doubt I'll get around to it anytime soon...

I'd highly suggest picking up XII, it was pretty polished but the battle system is a bit clunky. Then again its better than XIII's.

I'll gamefly the English version of XIII just to see if the story is crap or not, I already made up my mind on the game itself through my Japanese playthrough.

Also might I add the commercials suck ass for the US Release, because a picture of the box art and My Hands playing would really get someone interested in buying this game. This is coming from someone that loved the My Hands trailer.

Oh yeah, and screw you DK, your just showing off now.
And a Renegade playthrough of ME2 isn't all that different except you can kill Samara.
...
and not gain anyone's loyalty.
Whoop dee friggin do.

Have you even played Mass Effect 2? I don't think you have. For one you can be pure renegade and gain everyone's loyalty. Being Renegade or Paragon has no effect on whether you can gain their loyalty or not. Failing the loyalty mission has nothing to do with being a Renedick or Parabro. The gameplay isn't different but the story options and scenes are completely different. For example if you're a parabro you can listen to Worf Krogan go on and on about how One Million Krogan can beat One Billion Turians with Turian space weaponry or if you're a renedick you can just blow him up. Or back to loyalty missions lets use Zaeed for example, if you're a parabro you can convince Zaeed to let his targets live but if you're a renedick you can just let him fry everybody.

I think SE needs to make a new 16-bit FF.
That way all the money goes into the story.

That's all FFXIII is. Story and graphics. How the story is, I won't know till game fly ships it. But from everything I have read about it, they put the entire focus on story and graphics.

All this AND you can kill Samara no matter what direction you go.

They just did that last year with FFIV: The After Years.

But for the record, throwing money at a story does not make it better, if anything it makes things worse by bringing in too many conflicting opinions which leads to an overly random story that jumps all over the place, even within it's main plot. All you need is one good writer who can follow one vision from beginning to end.

12 had the fundaments of a good story but forced in too many superfluous characters and some really immersion-breaking game mechanics.

Its downhill on your story when you make someone the main character...that isn't the main character. So you're led to believe its one guy's story, when really that guy is a bystander most of the time and its actually this other person's story.

That sucked a lot of fun out of FFXII, which I like otherwise. (Unwillingness to break the 9999HP barrier is lazy though.)

That's pretty weird to say, since the biggest compliment about FFXIII I've heard from people who've played it is about how incredibly good the combat system is.

I am sorry, but I just get kinda bugged when people say crap about Vahn. There was no main character really in FFXII. It was about all of them doing their best to rebuild their broken nation. He had as big a part in that as the others. He lost his brother in the scheme that caused his country to get taken over. He got pulled into a war that he didn't want to be a part of at first, but he realized that there was more than revenge. Sure Vahn is not the best FF character, but to say he had no place in the story is just wrong.
