Speak for yourself. :P I'm sorry but there are a few of us here who will not support such endevours if they work comes from HK bootlegs and of course there are those here who are hardcore TVNers. So no, he and his group won't have "all our support.

And no I'm not being mean here, I'm being realistic. Look at groups on Rangerboard who attempted to fansub from HK bootlegs then look on the TVN forum and website. 10 to 1 you'll find something or another about it and none of it is positive.

Its not like I don't support it, I just don't care whether its done or not. Its still two levels of [mis]translation, and as soon as the one fansubbed directly from Japanese to English comes out, people will get that. Its like purposely doing an inferior version. I can't get with that. Above that....its all stuff from 2000 up, except Black, Black RX, and V3, which I hear all has great/decent subs. At this point, I'm only interested in downloading subbed stuff from 1999 back. So yeah...if a translator is interested in the projects I mentioned, or any other projects from 1970-1999, PM me.

I stand with Mikazuki and Kyusaku on this one. TVN will probably give you guys a hard time and not many serious translators will want to work with bootlegs.

Let's clarify. I have not now, nor have I ever or will I ever, intend to do HK fixes. All I'm interested in working on are things that cannot be found in anything other than a language English-speaking people don't understand. (I say English-speaking people because, let's face it: Spanish fans are kicking ass as far as subbing older stuff, or so the T-R Tracker leads me to believe. And of course Japanese fans have it all. ;) ) This means nothing from the last six years.

As head of the FDD-Toku division, I can also say that I don't intend to work on anymore projects than what my translator can handle and what I have staff for. I want to release once a week *at least* barring RL problems for group members, but would prefer to release twice or even three times. (One a day is a very fun goal to entertain, but not very likely unless we get more than one translator and more members to join.)

Now THAT'S a shameless plug.

You know...given what I'm trying to do, and what kyo's doing right now....I don't think he's got even the tiniest right to call me a parasite, or anything of the sort. But then again, he's proven time and time again how his logic works. "I want to force other fans to buy bootlegs even though I think bootlegging is wrong!"

I never called you a parasite, though. And what is it exactly that "I am doing"?

That sig insults me and numerous other people, some of which are my friends. Beyond that, you're forcing people to bootleg, just like I said you were in that other thread. If someone can't get it on the internet for free, what choice do they have?

Where do I insult you? All I'm doing is citing your name among the people that support bootleggers ... which is what you did in another thread, supporting a bootlegger. I didn't call you parasite, I call bootleggers parasites.

I'm not forcing anyone to bootleg. On the contrary, I upload as much as I possibly can. I'm sorry if it's not fast enough to your taste, but I'm doing the best I can with the bandwidth that I have. I spend 15 euros a month to buy extra bandwidth for the sole purpose of uploading shows for free. Isn't that enough? I'm sorry but unless I get unlimited bandwidth, I can't cater to everyone's wishes ... instead I try to upload one episode of each series alternating. I would gladly throw everything in huge torrents, but I just can't free up that much bandwidth. I'm sorry but it's the best I can do for now.

I said it before. I support everyone. Everyone can't be saintlike. If they could, they'd all join FDD-Toku and we'd be done subbing all of Toku by next month. ;) But that's not the case, so the only thing you're doing by keeping that thing in your sig is offending/insult (or borderline flame) people.

Come on. Tokyo-Nights? What's easier? Tossing Knight 30 bucks or going there and posting 600 times (or however many it is) to get enough "points" to pay for a single ep? Don't kid yourself. Let's not forget that: A.) ALL of this is bootlegging, downloading or selling, so technically that makes everyone here a parasite (think about that ;) ), and B.) These are people that would rather download or buy a bootlegged copy than get an official one, but basically they want what's easiest and cheapest. So if mustering up 30 measly dollars is easier than dealing with T-N's retarded system, guess what happens? No one's complaining about your speed. No one ever complained and if they did you should do what everyone else does and ignore them. Sorta like what you should do if someone makes a "rude" request, or whatever.

I'm not flaming, I'm just telling the truth:
- the people I quote as bootleggers are bootleggers. They don't try to hide it, they openly advertise their products.
- the people I quote as bootleg supporters are all people that jumped to the defense of a bootlegger.
The rest of my sig is just my way of showing how I feel about bootleggers in general.

It takes 2 posts to get enough credits to download one episode. At the rate I can upload episodes, that is not an insurmountable thing to do. Look at how many posts you've already put here! With the number of posts you have here, you could download 1.000 episodes. I don't think I can even upload that much.

A) There is a difference between my uploads and bootleggers:
- bootleggers make a profit, I don't (in fact, uploading is costing me money)
- bootleggers sell anything, whether it's available or not. They don't have any morals at all.
- I only upload episodes that have not been released on official DVD's and as such are impossible to get by for fans outside Japan. As soon as the official DVD's are out, I would take down the uploads.
- I also upload DVDrips from my DVD's, but never entire series. I only do a few episodes per series so people can sample before they buy, which I think is understandable considering the high cost of official DVD's
- I upload TV programs that have never been released on DVD, that were only broadcasted on Japanese TV.

B) I DID upload here on the forum and my uploads were available to all. Then people felt the need to jump to the defense of bootleggers. Considering my past experiences with bootleggers, I decided to protect my uploads. If you want to complain, complain to the bootleggers and their supporters, not me. They are the responsible ones.

And finally, I can't be held responsible for the fact that some fans are too lazy to download or too cheap to buy official ones. Their choice, not mine! I think I've already given more to the community than many others and frankly it's not fun to always have to defend or explain my actions while bootleggers are carried on a silver platter while they're filling their pockets.

Perhaps a mod can split up this discussion as I'm afraid we're going off topic here.
