Fansub Group Intrest?

*sigh* Way too tired to continue this argument. Its 7AM and I haven't slept yet. As for this thread...skip that. No person here that's capable of translating is going to join my group, or Herai-kun's group (if it ever gets together).

Edit: Since Fayt brought it up, actually what I bought from Knight I couldn't get anywhere on the internet. Beyond that...I don't really support the selling or buying of raws unless you can understand the language. I don't support sharing them online either, unless you either speak the language or plan to pass said raw on to someone that will use it as a source in a fansub project.

The topic at hand was the fact that he's selling bootlegs at a profit. By defending your friend, you've defended bootlegging as a whole. Don't try to back out after the deed is done. You've defended your friend AND his actions.

Bootlegging as a whole? Nah, screw that. I support Knight with his low, low prices, but I sure as **** don't support the losers charging him and others 100+ for a 50 ep series that's not even an official copy. Plus I already stated why its better to deal with FK over people who "help the fandom" by doing it for "free" with uploads. Not my fault if you ignored my post.

Bootlegging is bootlegging. The difference is that he is calculating less of a profit than some others.

Oh and regarding what you bought from him: Gaoranger is available at very high quality for free; rips of the official DVD's. Here are the first five eps hashes to prove it:

You can't find higher quality than those encodes, unless you buy the official DVD's.

You were all jumping to the defense of a bootlegger and in extension bootlegging as a whole. Now don't try to turn tail with weak excuses like 'he's my friend' or 'at least he's cheaper than others'.

Who says I don't, or don't have someone in my group that doesn't? I'm a timer on 56k though. Nothing about that says I have to know where to get raw sources. I just have to be able to get the re-encoded versions from the encoder of my group and time the script from the translator.

You would perhaps have an easier time finding a translator if you didn't support bootlegs like you do now. With the limited knowledge I have, I've helped left and right with a few translations whenever I had the spare time. But I'll be damned if I help bootleggers slap subs on their merchandise so they can sell them for even more money. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way.
