This is a natural phenomenon which happens with all of us. We all have different thresholds and our body and mind have their own tolerance limit. Anything that is done in excess can make us lose interest in it for the rest of the life. There is a saturation limit which, if crossed will never allow us to revert back.
I definitely agree to this, we all have a limit in anything we are doing in this life as much as we love and enjoy doing such things, once we reach our limit and breaking point, it's game over for us because trying to force it would only bring you distress instead of fun.
I completely agree with you on this because it's more effective to have less things distracting you from a particular important task in order to focus well and sort it out. Games as much as it's something so fun to engage in, it can be a great source of distraction which is capable of making one lose focus from his set objectives.
You just took the words out of my mouth about gaming being a great source of distraction which has the capability and capacity to take one off the rails he or she is supposed to stay on track with. All these are as a result of addiction to playing these games and fighting to overcome this horrible addiction experience is not an easy task.
I don't really game that much these past few years, so I'm having breaks every here and then but I always end up getting back to games. There is absolutely no point of not playing video games if you aren't addicted to it.
Once you aren't addicted to the game, taking a time off playing is certainly going to an easy thing for you to do. It's just going to be as easy as taking a candy from a baby because you definitely won't feel any pressure in dropping the game and moving on to the next thing. I wish that I'm not already addicted to gaming because I wouldn't be in the mess this addiction have cost me.

Haha, I know and used the word distraction to describe gaming because I had a good experience with it. It has served me as a distraction for both positive and negative ways. Although I'm happy to recount that the positive distraction it has offered me far outweigh the negative side.

Nothing beats addiction when it comes to playing games of any sort. Not just in Final Fantasy but with any other games one seem to give attention to. Such games have the ability to take one far deep into playing that it would appear as there is another thing being derived from playing such a game apart from fun.

That seems to be a win win for you because it affords you time and chance to focus on other things that need your full attention without any form of distraction that comes with gaming. Just like you pointed out, addiction is a also another factor that makes it impossible for one to take up the courage and go on a break.

I definitely believe that as well when it comes to gaming having both positive and negative distraction effects on people. Where would I place my own distraction more? On positive or negative? I think I'm more of the negative distraction especially during my university days but not I'm getting more wise with how I allow myself to be controlled by the game instead of me controlling it.

Addiction is one of the reasons the young generation are becoming more introvert and isolated because they seem to always be locked up and cooked up in their rooms at home gaming from Sunday to Sunday without having much time to associate with the outside world. The only people they feel comfortable being around are their fellow gamers. This is not be encouraged because on the long run, it's going to affect such kids relationships tendencies.
I've made breaks with gaming, and I've made breaks with particular games. This can happen because I am tired of a certain game or because I don't have time, but whenever I return after a break, everything looks way better!

You were a bit younger back then because I'm sure it was the reason why you couldn't find a way to control yourself with the game but as you got older, you became wiser which made you to understand what priorities were between gaming and other tasks that you were supposed to take of.
