Then you should edit your first post in this thread and state that the item is no longer for sale/has already been sold. Otherwise you're just leading people on unfairly.

He isn't really. Like I said, the thread is over 4 months old. He could edit the first post to say it was sold on Ebay., but it still took someone to dig up the old thread to resurect it.
