Dude, I bought a Dell!

My inner elitist wants to hate all Dells...but I'm typing on one right now that I've had for six years with only some minor problems (although it's now heavily upgraded.) So I really can't talk. :)

Couldn't resist:

yeah i have a dell too...... but this is like not a computer I bought so yeahhhh when I buy my own instead of using the family pc, it will not be a dell!! :P

Getting very tired of my Crash Master 5000, I decided to put my credit card to use and actually start earning some credit.

Hey, I've got that laptop and it's very similar to the one in the first post, Keith. Sadly, unlike yours, I don't have a Windows Vista. Happily, at least, I've got 2 GB of RAM! ^_^

(Eek! Am I going to get banned for saying this to you?)

****.... co-worker just laid on me right when my laptop arrived that, "Hey, you can get a laptop that doesn't suck instead for the same price and twice as much... everything."

These are the other choices....

What would you do and which would you get? Send back the still boxed DELL and get one of these?

His argument to do so is pretty compelling....

[09:55] Colin: I guess. You'll be limited to Watching videos and spyware/adware and installed application with slowly force your system to crawl on it's knees and one day you'll bitch that it takes too long for Windows to load
[09:56] Colin: All because you were too lazy to spend the SAME amount of money on a BETTER laptop.
[09:56] Colin: It's called being an educated consumer.
[09:57] Colin: I could buy cleaner that's actually **** in a bucket, but I'm educated enough to know that for the same cost, I can buy a bottle of 409 and it won't leave the stinky smear.
[09:57] Colin: But if you want your bucket-**** laptop, thats fine with me.
[09:58] Colin: When I win the lottery, I'm buying a $12,000 Voodoo PC
[09:58] Colin: and you WILL be assimulated. Resistance is futile.
