Dr. Who - Talk Up!

New Earth was entertaining. :laugh: I love my Doctor Who. I had been worried about David Tennant, but most of those worries were gone after the Christmas Invasion, and now they are all gone now. <3 <3 <3

I'm downloading "New Earth" right now, so hopefully, when I get home tonight, it will be done and I can watch it

::thawps::

I liked David as Dr. Who.

Didn't the new season of Dr. Who start today in the UK?

David is great as the Doctor... I just worried a bit because I really loved Eccleston.:anime:

It aired a few hours ago? I think there's a torrent up on mininova. I'm upping the episode to filefactory if anyone wants the link.

I know. Chris made the best Dr Who, in my book, because he came off as witty, fun and carefree (plus it didn't hurt that he was attractive) BUT after watching David, he makes a great Dr Who as well. But Chris will always be my favorite Dr. Who. (WHY DID THEY KILL HIM OFF SO FAST!?)

Speaking of David... I know he appeared in the latest Harry Potter movie but I can't seem to place him in the movie. Any ideas who he played?

IMDB lists Tennant as Barty Crouch Junior.

I know this is the latest generation in a long line of Whos, but if the other series are anywhere near as good as this I'd like to check them out. I guess I should start scouring the web for more eps.

For those who don't know, here is a brief history of the good Doctor: The original series ran for 26 years, starting in 1963 and ending in 1989. During that period of time, 7 actors portrayed the title character. He had hundreds of adventures, and brought dozens of companions along the way.

In 1996, FOX produced a TV movie of Who that featured the 8th Doctor, played by Paul McGann. A convienient plot device first introduced early in the show has The Doctor able to 'Regenerate' instead of dying. His appearance and personality change with each incarnation, allowing different actors to step into the Blue Box and make the character their own. Having seen all the different Doctors in action, I can honestly say that Eccleston is one of the best, bringing a more human side to the Doctor. Alot of the previous Doctors acted with an intelectual detachment to the proceedings, causing the Doctor to come across as a know-it-all.

For those new to Who, stick around. You aint seen nothing yet!!!

Three, but The Master has already surpassed the standard thirteen incarnations through cheating, so who knows

13? I always thought it was 12.

But here's something to consider. Gotta love paradoxes. In one of the original episodes the Doctor encountered a future evil version of himself. Since we're on # 10 then the evil version either is 11, 12 or 13 OR possibly no longer exists which creates the paradox if he never existed then how did the (good) Doctor meet the evil one?

Twelve regenerations, thirteen incarnations.

A lot of fans tend to beleive the Sixth Doctor in some of the novels managed to change his own history and avoid becoming The Valeyard, so the Valeyard, much like The Doctor is now, exists as a paradox, if he is still alive, and is detatched from his being and life.
