Dr. Who - Talk Up!

I LOVED this show I first downloaded "Rose" when someone leaked it before it first aired in the UK. I kept up with a little over half of the series but remembering to download it was a hassle.

I'm THRILLED that the Sci-Fi channel is airing it. LOVE IT.

It's on right now in the Pacific zone and will be on for another hour and 15 minutes.

Well, US version is edited. -_- The mall rampage seems to be missing a few things here and there.

Yeah...but other than those minor things, it was fantastic!!! I recorded both episodes w/ my DVR and I'm gonna probably go back and watch them again. It was bugging me where I had seen the actor that plays the Doctor from...and then it hit me: Gone in Sixty Seconds.

Tainted Love and Toxic, classics? Who knows what else would be classic in 200 years let alone 5 billion.

Heh -- and WHY would anyone consider Britney a classic is beyond me but I guess those two contemporary songs fit the theme of the ep.

Kicked. Ass.

I'm definitely getting the DVD of this season when it comes out. I was a big fan of the old stuff (Tom Baker and Peter Davison mostly), but this... this is so much better, it's almost a reboot. The writing, the acting, the special effects... and yet, it really *felt* like Dr. Who. ...minus several tons of cheese. I guess I *do* have something to keep me happy until October, when BSG starts up again.

Smoking endo
Sipping on Gin and Juice
Laid Back

With my mind on my money and my money on my mind.

THAT will be a classic in a mere 100 years. Five billion years down the road all this garbage we hate will be considered classics though.

The UK boxset (which can be shipped to the States) is only $104 (US). I saw (on the SciFi channel after the 2nd ep aired) that the US DVDs are available for preorder but I don't see where yet.

I know what happened at the end of this season and I won't spoil it for those who don't know or who have not seen those eps (as I said, I only watched a little over half of it by downloading it via BT).

Depending on the cost of the US DVDs, I might just buy the UK boxset instead.

P.S. Chris Eccleston is hot.

You can preorder from amazon. Hmmm... my DVD player *is* region-hacked, but I don't think it can handle PAL format. Oh well, as long as the US version has all the same special features (holy crap, they've really gone all out on that set), I'll be okay with waiting until July.

The early epsiodes of the Eccelston season, minus the CGI, is almost, if not closer to, the original series budget sometimes, especially the first two parter, with the budget getting better as the season progressed, so I'd say, (and since this is STILL the original series in my opinion despite production blocks saying otherwise), that Doctor Who is'nt better than its' first run, but equally as good

Wow, ever watch this show with peopel who are new to the show. Honestly had to put up with complaining parents for awhile.

I too have seen all the way to the end of the season and Christmas Invasion. I intend to get the next batch of episodes once those start coming out too, that's not going to stop me from watching the first season all over again.

Mainly because I want that box set to mean something dammit >_<

Only downside is that the eps were slightly chopped for previews and commercials which kinda ticks me off. I mean, wouldn't it have been awesome if we only got say one commercial break and everything was left intact? Myabw that's just me butr still, the breaks got annoying as they happened at the worst possible moments. It seriously seemed like it was a network TV edit of a movie or something.

Tech gripes aside, I now have a new reason to stay in Friday nights, sad as that sounds :P
