Dr. Who - Talk Up!

Ok, for anyone that lives in the UK and saw the episode on the TV, did it include the "narration" towards the end of the episode, or was that just from the file I downloaded?

Narration? Mine didn't have a narration.... Oh, do you mean about the Doctor Who Confidential? I think the narration comes from Doctor Who airing on BBC Three. It airs on BBC One at 6:35 PM and BBC Three at 7 PM if I'm reading the times right.

No...Like, towards the end, it was like they were doing the radio drama or something...Like, after the Doctor explained everything, while they were on the move, there was someone(who sounded like Tennant, w/out his thick accent) detailing what they were doing as if it were for the radio drama

Weird. My copy didn't have that at all.

Misfits, it's the file you downloaded. I believe that the first one that got mass distribuation had the audio problem. It was later repacked, so there is a better version out there.

I didn't really care too much for the first part of the two parter. (Rise of the Cybermen??). Age of Steel was much better and more fun. I also watched it on a projection screen! [HIDE]And OMG! Mickey!! I may not have really liked the guy at first, but when the Doctor just let him stay, I was like, shocked. Yay for not reading spoilers this year. ^__^[/HIDE]

Ok, spoiler question for those of you who watched last week's "Rise of the Cybermen" and this week's "Age of Steel." Since I'm going to be posting stuff in regards to Saturday's episode... I'll use the hide tag.

[hide]In the 2005 series, I can't recall which episode, when the Doctor and Mickey first meet, the Doctor addresses Mickey as Ricky and was very adament that Mickey was Ricky. This leads me to my questions, Has the Doctor met Ricky before Rise of the Cybermen and before Rose? It makes me wonder if he already knew of the parallel universe's Ricky despite him saying they weren't supposed to be in that universe.

Also, him saying that only the Timelords had the capability of traveling through different dimensions makes me wonder if the writers plan on bringing the Timelords back. They brought the Darleks back despite that they were "all dead" and have been tossing in hints since 2005 that the Timelords are not all gone.

I know that they (writers) had the Doctor say that it was a rip in time and wasn't supposed to be there but what does the Doctor know? He was wrong about the Darleks so could he be wrong about the Timelords?[/hide]

Granted I might be very wrong here, and heavy speculation on my part, but it might be soemthing left over from the 8th Doctor. Now my knowedge of him is only from the TV movie, could never get into the books, but occasionally he look at somebody and say something to help them out in the future. From telling that one security guy which test question to answer to telling his friend not to go down that one street on a certain day.

like, I said just speculation on my part

"The Idiot's Lantern" has aired in the UK, whilst the states will receive the season finale of the 2005 series next week

[Hide]Pretty enjoyable epsiode set in the 1950's, the coronation of Queen Elizabeth. Loved the fact The Doctor and Rose dressed in the fashions of the 1960's, and realized the TARDIS had screwed up and dropped them off in this time period. The Wire, using the telivision images to draw in and rob people of their souls and faces, was a chlling, original, and ferally polite addition to The Doctor rouges gallery. The battle on the transmitter screamed "Logopolis", and a line of dialouge in the original script mentions the last time The Doctor fell off a transmitter.

The epsiode has strong moral issues about women's place in the 1950's, and it's handled viciously, but without violence, and ends with the stern diplomacy of a frustrated housewife throwing her dominanting husbund out. Great material.

Rose was better here than in other episodes, but was taken out a little early, leaving The Doctor with another temporary companion, I'm beggining to notice this is a TREND, and could very well be deliberate[/Hide]

Haven't ALL of the Doctor's companions been pretty short lived in traveling with him? Rose has been traveling with him for about two years now, right? So shouldn't her time with him be almost up?

..If you count the Big Finish audios, Ace is still with the Seventh Doctor, Sarah-Jane is still regarded as one of longest serving companions, leaving only because The Doctor booted her out etc...
