A random piece of trivia to start with. Apparently this is the 100th episode broadcast since the series was revived back in 2005. :dance:

I'm always a little nervous about Mark Gatiss penned episodes. He's written some good 'New Who' but he's also written some of the very worst (Go Go Dalek Rangers). Overall I think this one was pretty good. You'd never tell that mad Mrs Gillyflower was being played by a former Bond Girl (and 'Miss Peel', the character who popularised the 'catsuit girl' spy trope). The 'Thomas Thomas' joke was a really groaner, but they made up for it by having Clara playing with a G1 Galvatron near the end. I also LOVE that they don't feel the need to explain why Madame Vastra or Strax are in Victorian times. My only reservation is, of course, the ending. Kids in the Tardis sounds horrible >8(

I quite liked this madcap steampunk romp. Thought The Doctor being cleansed of the crimson affliction was a little too tidy, same with Clara being returned to normal, after which that rejuvenation chamber just sort of didnt get brought up again. I had to explain the Thomas Thomas thing to someone watching it with me who wasnt savy with cars, Mr. Sweet felt like he'd have been right at home in a MIB flick.

Kids in the TARDIS next week...and it's a Gaiman episode....incidently, one of his children's stories was read on CBeebies last night.

Hey, "Victory of the Daleks" was a pretty decent episode.... until the Dalek Rangers came in. :laugh:

Oh Strax I don't care if they'll ever explain how you came back to life. Just keep being you. This ep might be my favorite this season. Just a fun time the only exception being the last two minutes which basically went like this. "ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS FUCKING CHILDREN DO A GOOGLE SEARCH AND LEARN ABOUT TIME TRAVEL?!! 50 FUCKING YEARS AND THE DOCTOR HASN'T LEARNED NOT TO TAKE PICTURES IN THE PAST?! HE EVEN DEALT WITH THIS **** A FEW YEARS BACK AND DELETED EVERYTHING! OH AND NOW THERE IN THE NEXT EPISODE! GREAT! FUCKING GREAT! FUCKING BULLSHIT STUPID ASS CR-....Cybermen?...I still love you Doctor Who..."

I don't know about this one, a lot of it rubbed me the wrong way:disappoin. The story itself was well-written, but its the jokes and the dialogue in between, and the execution that bothered me.

The fainting joke was funny the first time, but by the end of the episode my reaction to it was :redface2:.

Creepy man is creepy, but honestly didn't need as much screen time that he got. He's just there to help in the exposition of the plot device.

I agree, the Doctor recovered way too easily from the rejection. I didn't like how he just sprang out like nothing happened.

Mrs Gillyflower was hands down the best thing in this episode. The writing and the performance of the character was amazing.

Strax is fun and all, but he's being reduced too much to being comic relief and not much else. It's bugging me. I mean, it's weird how he did something, and then was just dismissed like he's not needed anymore.

I must confess, I found myself a bit let down when Ada refused to forgive her mother at the end. And was honestly disturbed when she mercilessly crushed Mr Sweet. I admit, both of them had it coming, but it still left a bad taste in me.

The scene at the end was a bit ridiculous, I have to say. And I have to ask; who's idea was it to get the two kids in on the next episode?
