Disney cancels top two soap operas!

Well either way (child of Laura/Stavros, child of Faison/Olbreht), it would be out of left field, but that's typical for soaps, especially with the whole long lost son/daughter/twin/mother/father trope. And I'd love for her to be the long lost daughter of David Haward and Anna, but with AMC coming back, chances are they can't use the character of David.

No, its going to be online only. Its basically the original idea from before, its just NOW that GH is a ratings powerhouse its re-gained momentum. Though I agree I don't see it lasting long and I think that ship has sailed. But we'll see.

If she is, she is most certainly Helena's grandchild if you know what I mean. I wish they'd just combine all three shows in the same universe and make it official because it gets tiring that they do it, but nothing major happens.

I heard rumors it could come back on TV , but on a different channel, but even not, we got a Bluray player that connects online, so it's kinda on TV anyways. :castlerock: Thanks to affordable players, that is , and Black Friday.

Oh yeah. I like the idea of Laura having a "bad" child, its like the opposite of Luke having a "good" son in Lucky. lol Plus I kind of like the idea of Helena having SOMEONE on her side from the Spencer clan. She's basically a cartoon villain, but she's sooo good at it and a hoot to watch.

Well they always had crossovers, but to combine them into ONE show would be kind of...impossible, unless it was with a rotating cast.

I think they should have struck while the iron was hot, but again, we'll see.

Also, here's an update, at least regarding Todd. He's returning to the revival of One Life To Live for four weeks, then he's going back to General Hospital. Other sites are saying The Online Network may somehow SHARE the actors with ABC. So that's something.

I'm glad she's just the bad bitch that is just spiteful rather than the usual psycho chicks they go for. She clearly has limits, so with the Ice Princess coming back, I can see her possibly opposing it. Hopefully, if Lucky comes back, they need to have them interact...it would be like Zuko and a not insane Azula. And I will always go for that dynamic.

I mean like Marvel. They have their characters interact constantly in the same universe while being their own identity. It seems unrealistic that in a world we got today that every character thats in the same world does not interact every once in a while or few. Like for example , have them rotate as you said between shows , and since its online and on TV, it gives reason to watch both, while not having to rely on either to fully enjoy the experience.

I will await this, because I miss AMC and want to get into OLTL, which I hated for stealing the budget of AMC and GH, aka the poor man's GH is how I viewed it. Dang my mom and aunt for getting me addicted and now I got a friend who wants me to get into Coronation Street..... I might do a Spanish soap, but not Filipino after Zaido.:redface2:

After some login problems, I'm back! :castlerock: :buttrock: :castlerock2: :megarock: :band:

Anyway...

The revivals are good, its just...does there need to be so much cursing on both shows? I swear both shows have it in their contract to say $h!t at least 3 times.

I only saw the first ep of All My Children, seems good. I'll have to catch up to see how they explain where Tad is, and JR as well. I like the actor who plays JR's son AJ a lot. Seems made for the role, definitely can see a bit of Adam there.

One Life to Live...I did NOT expect Victor to be back. At all. St. John left statements to the fact that he was done with the show. But I guess not. Its cool to have him and Howarth there at the same time, but its my understanding they will kill off Todd (or put him in a coma) so Howarth can return to GH as a new character, a Cassadine. :sly: No word on Easton and Alston (McBain and Starr respectively), but its expected both will return as completely different characters as well. Easton as a brother of Caleb, Alston as this Quartermain everyone is looking for.

Its confusing, but I think whats happening is Prospect Park owns the names while ABC has the actor's contracts. Instead of breaking their contracts to let Prospect Park potentially make another contract with them, they're instead keeping the contracts intact, just not using everyone as their original respective character. I mean, I wonder if it would have been possible to have all three on the show, only never be referred to by name, ever? :disappoin Guess not.

I've missed about a month of GH, but...Helena's dead (shot and killed by Luke), Lulu has been recast (the actress has been trying to leave the show a while apparently), Stavros returns and then died pretty much the same way I believe his own father died (frozen then shattered), AJ is still a hoot to watch, and finally, Brit really is the daughter of Faison and Dr. Olbrecht. :(

I'm actually sort of sad to see Alston come back as the missing Lauren, that pretty much ruins her chance to be Micheal's love interest again.

I don't want to see any of them come back as different characters, but I agree Starr and Michael worked very very well.

Ok...I've seen just the first week of AMC and haven't looked back. I don't know, for that show it feels a little too late. I'm sure I'll catch up at some point. OLTL, on the other hand, I'm enjoying immensely. Just not cool with all the cursing. I'm no choir boy, it just seems superfluous.

Matthew is tap dancing on my nerves. I understand exactly where he's coming from: before the show ended, he had sex with Destiny, he goes into a coma for a year, he wakes up, Destiny is like "here's your baby!" And then he finds out his mother coerced her into having the baby. I get it, you want that year back, you probably didn't want to have kids till a decade later. It sucks, I understand. Now get over it and be a father to your kid. Stop blowing him off, stop disrespecting Destiny. And why would Dani want to be with a guy who is showing you how he will act if he knocks you up?

Also, Jack should be slapped every episode, just because.

I'm actually a few weeks behind, I'm on chapter 4, but still, good stuff. Love Vicki and Clint, love Bo and Nora.

On to GH...

Well, the Big Three (Howarth, Alderson, and Easton) are back as different characters. Howarth has been recast as Franco. :sly: Psychopath, killing for fun Franco, originally played by James Franco (hence the name, an homage to the actor). They retconned Franco setting up Michael to get raped (he paid Carter to protect Michael while making it look like it was really the other way around, but Carter decides to make the ploy real, or something like that). Since they're sticking with him being Jason's long lost fraternal twin, he gets a big share of ELQ fortune so Tracy and AJ are kissing his butt to get them on their side.

Alderson is Kiki Jerome, Franco's long lost daughter who also gets some shares. What's interesting about her, however, is her mother, who is a new character named Ava Jerome. Back in the day, GH had more crime families and the Jeromes were one of them. Apparently Ava is somehow tied to them (unless her last name and sharpshooting skills are both a coincidence).

What's NOT interesting is that Michael and Kiki are attracted to each other, and the attraction hasn't stopped even after finding out they are first cousins (well I guess first half-cousins since AJ and Franco only have the same father). And the writers seem like they want to drag this out for some time to come, making it a love triangle with Sonny's newly recast son Morgan who has a gambling problem. :nono:

And Easton is Dr. Silas Clay, the brother of Caleb, who was really Stephen Clay, his twin brother who had a psychotic break and thought he was vampire named Caleb (ooookay, that explains Caleb, doesn't explain Lucy and Allison and Rafe Sr. *sharing* his psychotic break, but whatever). When Caleb "died" (he actually escaped), Silas came to town to take care of Rafe. He's cartoonishly abrasive and stand offish, the cliche of a brilliant doctor who sees no need for social niceties. And of course Sam hates him in a hate to love him sort of way.

Three recasts aside, I am enjoying GH. Luke and Tracy are great, Laura and Scotty are always great, AJ being AJ is great (Kanan really shines in the role). When Olivia got shot, great acting came out of that from all parties involved (Shawn, Sonny, Carly, Dante). In fact, for once I liked Sonny (never thought I'd see the day) cause he was acting like the villain I've always known him to be without any enabling nor hero worship. People were scared of him instead of trying to find a way to excuse his actions. Basically, he set up a hit to kill a newly returned Franco by hiring Shawn as the hitman, but called it off, then Carly put it back on (she lied and told Shawn that Sonny told her the hit was back on), and Shawn shot Olivia by accident. Turns out Ava tried to sharpshoot Franco from a distance at the same time, but somehow missed and hit Olivia. But at the time Sonny was in overdrive and everyone was rightfully afraid of him and seeing him as the evil bastard he is. I guess Jason was the buffer to this, and with him gone, the veil has finally been lifted.
