Direct TV got rid of Viacom networks.

I work for Directv and here's our side of things.

No we did not "Get Rid" of Viacom. It was Viacom's decision to pull the channels off the air.

Viacom is wanting a BILLION dollars more than what they wanted last year. Billion. With a B.

Viacom had the option to keep their services on during the contract disputes. They didn't. That plus the BS ads they've been running about it, and you realize its just a shitty marketing tactic to squeeze more money out of their customers. They keep saying WE pulled the channels off the air, but WE did nothing.

So yeah, if you want the channels back, call viacom and tell them you wont have your prices spiked because of their greed.

Got any proof to back all this up?

Yeah, but there's the thing

G4 hasn't been good in YEARS

All it was doing was showing reruns of Cops 24/7 and it barely had any original programming

And the funny thing with that was they wanted to same price they were getting before for a channel filled with reruns

The dispute wasn't over the Fox company, but that one particular group that handles Fox's local rights in certain areas.

As far as this goes, I'll tell you guys the same thing I've been telling out customers.

This isnt the first time this has happened, we have a 99% retention rate for our channels, with the exception being shitty G4 that we DECLINED to negotiate with.

Based on previous experience we'll probably have the channels back sometime mid next week.

Changing companies isnt the answer because the same damn thing is about to happen to most of them.
