Did Kamen rider series died for you after kabuto

Apparently one producer said in an interview that they want Sentai to portray a "lighter, less grim" world than what we live in. Which isn't bad in and of itself. But I don't think you need to incessantly pander to the youngest audiences possible to achieve that.

Just to note

Honestly, I really like Go-Busters as a series. After Gokaiger's awesomeness, it's a good way to cool down, and it's had some really good episodes. The only ones that were really weak were the Yoko centered ones because honestly, they were just boring. It also has a very serious undertone to it, which just makes me love it even more.
No idea why it's ratings are so low when Gokaiger's were extremely high. I mean, that series wasn't very light hearted, and the pirates (minus Gai) had a very IDGAF attitude most of the series. I guess it's just the whimsy of the fans.

That was Hideaki Tsukada when he was the producer of Gekiranger. And given that Gekiranger is generally considered by English-speaking fans to be the most "mature" Sentai of the last five or so years, that says something about the direction the franchise has taken. He also explicitly stated in that interview that Sentai's primary target audience these days is three to five-year-old boys (Kamen Rider's seems to be a little older, but not even as old as pre-teens.) I don't know why that is the case, perhaps someone better informed such as Lynxara, Shougo or Aoi Kurenai would know

Nobunaga's Desire (or the most recent KR series done by the same guy) for .

Is this thing based on Oda Nobunaga?

I can't help but laugh. most people complain about the goofy comedy in Sentai, but when it comes to Kamen Rider, it's perfectly okay? Gobusters is now being smart and doing the things people have been wanting to see, but they still bitch about it. "If it's Kamen Rider, it rocks!" that's what most members here think from what I've seen.

Yeah, because having a robot rabbit and gorilla that are idiots is so serious Gobusters is doing nothing different than any other Sentai, they are just using new tech to do it with. Honestly, Enter is the only thing keeping me from just dropping the show entirely (in fact, I need to watch eps 15+).

Yes, it involved the historical figure being revived as a homunculus. According to the producer of OOO, Date was originally to have been killed off and revived as a homunculus; so presumably "Nobunaga's Desire" was intended to introduce that element for use in the show.

Gokaiger's ratings aren't high - they're around the 4.9-5.0 mark, but Go-Busters's are (currently) lower than that. However, Gokaiger did pull very high sales. We don't yet know how Go-Busters will perform in that respect.

I am interested, has anyone subbed the show? If not, where can I find raws to it?

I honestly don't get ratings. I mean, the numbers you placed seem pretty high to me. I mean, 5% of the country is watching the show, that is A LOT, especially when I'm sure the ratings to account for those who record it and watch it later on and stuff like that.

It was the name of the OOO part of Movie Wars Core. TV-N has subbed it and I think O-T did too. You can probably find raws from one of the usual places.

They're just low by the standards of the franchise, especially since before Geki, Sentai was regularly pulling ratings between 7-8% each year

It's a sample size of a certain location I think, and then I think it's extrapolated to get an estimate. I might be wrong, but I don't think they check every house.

5.0 is relatively low, considering how shows like Decade and W got 6-7, and Kuuga-Faiz got from 9-11% ratings, which is great for a morning show.

You have to look at in the context of other numbers and not just the show by itself. By the time it finished, Gokaiger was in the bottom three as far as average ratings for Sentai go. It also had a pretty big drop off from Goseiger (5.4%) and beyond that, I think Toei was expecting the Decade effect. Decade started out with its first episode having pretty bad ratings, basically following the trend from Kiva, but they picked up very fast, seeing highs to the point that the only series since Blade that had better ratings was Hibiki.

I don't mean to say Toei expected Decade numbers, but they expected a decent bump in proportion to Sentai trends, not a drop. I mean, the toy line sold great and whatever, but we're focusing on the TV production here. They went out of their way to get all these old actors back for the show, who most of the time didn't have to be there as only a handful were represented in the toy line through mecha (if you don't count the Ranger Keys), and a lot of those guest star episodes end up being some of the least viewed from the series.

Sentai's highest ratings of the last 5 years was Shinkenger, with 5.9%. Although I like the show, I think a lot of the reason for its relatively high ratings was the "Japanese" theme and patriotism on the part of the audience - and it's still quite a way down from Dekaranger, Magiranger and Boukenger's ratings. KR was doing well for two years with Decade and W at around 8.0%, but ratings hit the slide with OOO
