DC Chronology Help

A simple passerby...
Erm, don't know if this is where it's supposed to be, but serious help needed here.

I want like a list of DC Comics in Chronological orders, like from beginning to current. Example: Batman which one comes first, Officer Down or Subzero. Shits like that. And I kinda want the order for any Superhero comic out there. I've got collections of comics, rare ones such as Batman and Detective Comics and a few VERY old Superman ones. Now, I've just finished watching Justice League ll the way to Unlimited, I'm going to plan to buy Green Lantern and Flash's comics. What I want is basically a sort of timeline showing from where to start, where the crossovers are, like you know working down the lane. Also a "what leads to what" kinda thing and you know the origins of some heroes or villians labeled down in the timeline as well.

It's a lot to ask for, but I really need some major help. I don't live in a country that provides these kinda comics at any store available, but I'm interested enough to pay a lot for a trip to gain all the comics available. That is, if I had the money >.> Which I will, in time. But otherwise, I want to get prepared with my list of which ones I'm gonna have to read. I know, it's a fuckin huge pile, but it would at least keep me busy over the summer.

PS: Hope you guys don't get confused with what I want XP

EDIT:All so, put in ANY Animated film DC related that relates to ANY parts of the timeline or chronology.

Wow, thats a pretty serious undertaking.

If you want to go with current continuity stuff, I would suggest starting with Brad Meltzer's Identity Crisis. This will get you a bit of a brace for getting into the world, and is a great murder mystery in its own right.
From there I would try to get each major comic (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Teen Titans) as well as Green Lantern Rebirth and all of the Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps up to Countdown to Infinite Crisis and then Infinite Crisis itself. Then start reading 52. After that, hit all the One Year Later books from the ones above, going up to Amazons Attack and the Sinestro Corps war, leading up to Countdown and Final Crisis. From there, read Trinity, Followed by Faces of Evil, then Origins and Omens, and then Battle for the Cowl. From there, just read the major titles and you should be up to date. Pay specific attention to GL and GLC because they lead into the next big event: Blackest Night.

If you have trouble, go over to

for all the major events in the DC universe.

Hope it helps

@Nana: For a month. Just for doing some Free-speech. Ah well, I won't say anymore. And just curious, how did you know?

@Kenori: Ahhh Thanks! Though, I'm quite dumbfounded now. I've been doing some research. And I'm still confused. What is it with the "Crisis" stuff. Is it some sort of title for an Era?

The Crisis are usually pretty big events in the DC Universe. The first was Crisis on Infinite Earths and was arguably the biggest event in the history of DC. The reason Infinite Crisis is called so is because the story is spun out of things from CoIEs. I dont know why Final Crisis is called so, I haven't read it yet.

Ok thanks!

... I know this might annoy you a little bit, but what you gave me is the list for Modern Age right? I was actually hoping to start since the Golden Age...

If you're looking for Golden Age comics, I think that the trade paperback series, "Showcase Presents..." has a bunch of collected Golden Age stuff from their respective titles. Correct me if I'm wrong... I've only glanced at the volumes while at Borders.

As for getting your hands on them, I think Amazon ships internationally. :]
