Danny Boyle to helm the next James Bond movie?

Agreed with Keith. With a director like Kitamura or Ritchie, who makes one type of film very well, I'd agree with Bolt, but Boyle has made everything from Trainspotting to 28 Days Later to Slumdog, which, while they all had a somewhat similar style, are VERY different movies.

He’s got an Oscar in hand and he’s the toast of Hollywood. Now it’s time for Danny Boyle to get paid bitches! The Sun claims the Slumdog Millionaire director may be in line to helm the next James Bond movie.

Yeah since its from The Sun this is probably not true or just exaggerated, no need to create expectations yet.

Maybe. None of the films Boyle has done so far really give me hope that he could pull off a good Bond film in the same way Martin Campbell (who was a perfect choice, IMO) did. No doubt he's capable of making solid films, but is he capable of making a solid, not-too-bloated action/espionage film?

I think it's good for director's to take on a new challenge. Boyle may never did an action film, but I would love to see what he can do in this genre & for the Bond franchise.

I'm surprised that 28 Days Later doesn't give people more hope. Sure, it's not straight up action, but it's a similar style, anyway.

I'm probably not more hopeful because I hated 28 Days Later. I thought the whole thing was unequivocally boring and I didn't get much enjoyment out of the "action" scenes because they were... I dunno... impossible to see. I didn't mind the shutter speed changes but the framing was just hopeless.
