yeah but a script can read fantastic but still blow in the actual theater based on any number of variables including Music, bad acting, bad directing...
And even if these sunrise guys sat thereon the set, their vision is skewed. Because you see an actor doing his thing and you think "yeah, this seems like it's shaping up nicely" but the finished product might look completely different.
Their presence isn't a guarantee of quality. I can only hope the movie turns out decent. But it probably wont.
If you're worried about something like acting abilities then that's your beef. The creative manager's role is to make sure the atmosphere, the feeling of the show is there. All I'm worried about is if they can capture that same vibe thats on the show because that's what I love about Cowboy bebop, that's where the heart is, that's where it's most important. Keanu is an actor , whether you like him or not is your opinion. Sunrise, Watanabe, and Keanu had a long meeting about this movie and I'm sure you're beef was in there conversation. I mean afterall, they're very aware that they have lots of fans of Cowboy Bebop and that they don’t want to disappoint them with the live-action movie.
Let's be honest here, there will be some changes, or else what would be the point of adapting it to the big screen? But there jobs here are to make sure that the atmosphere the vibe of the show is captured. There was an interview with the person who wrote the script, and he and the rest of the guys are well aware of the music and the vibe of the show.
Trust me, I can understand why some of you can be distrusting after all that DBE hooplah! But the enthusiasm coming from the actor Keeanu, and the Sunrise staff, and there involvement on making sure it stays faithful to the original source material kinda relieves some tension. All that's needed is a director that can see the same vision everyone else is seeing
