Cowboy Bebop Movie Update

yeah but a script can read fantastic but still blow in the actual theater based on any number of variables including Music, bad acting, bad directing...

And even if these sunrise guys sat thereon the set, their vision is skewed. Because you see an actor doing his thing and you think "yeah, this seems like it's shaping up nicely" but the finished product might look completely different.

Their presence isn't a guarantee of quality. I can only hope the movie turns out decent. But it probably wont.

If you're worried about something like acting abilities then that's your beef. The creative manager's role is to make sure the atmosphere, the feeling of the show is there. All I'm worried about is if they can capture that same vibe thats on the show because that's what I love about Cowboy bebop, that's where the heart is, that's where it's most important. Keanu is an actor , whether you like him or not is your opinion. Sunrise, Watanabe, and Keanu had a long meeting about this movie and I'm sure you're beef was in there conversation. I mean afterall, they're very aware that they have lots of fans of Cowboy Bebop and that they don’t want to disappoint them with the live-action movie.

Let's be honest here, there will be some changes, or else what would be the point of adapting it to the big screen? But there jobs here are to make sure that the atmosphere the vibe of the show is captured. There was an interview with the person who wrote the script, and he and the rest of the guys are well aware of the music and the vibe of the show.

Trust me, I can understand why some of you can be distrusting after all that DBE hooplah! But the enthusiasm coming from the actor Keeanu, and the Sunrise staff, and there involvement on making sure it stays faithful to the original source material kinda relieves some tension. All that's needed is a director that can see the same vision everyone else is seeing

Oh 2 years ago? Sweet!! I go back to it now and then when ever I have have nothing else to watch and that I haven't touched it in awhile haha It still mesmerize's me everytime I get to watch it hehe

and guess what, that feeling, that magic, that vibe isn't going to be captured without good acting, good directing, music, etc etc. It takes all pieces to make a whole. It wasn't just the story that made Cowboy Bebop what it was. It was the setting, the characters, the voice acting, the music, the atmosphere, and the pacing. If any one of those variables was a negative then the show probably would not be as enjoyable.

That's what I'm sayin.

Who said it wasn't?:eyebrow: Where I'm getting at is that fact that Sunrise and everyone that was involved in the original anime is making sure that it captures it as much as possible. They themselves fully understand how important this is to the fans.

...but like minami said, if you were reading the whole thing...

“I think it’s only natural that the live-action version will be different to the animation, as they’re completely different mediums [sic]. If they weren’t different, there’d be no point in making the movie. I think the challenge will be as I said, making sure that the same characterisation, the same emotion from the series is in there.”

...with that kinda pessimistic attitude, I don't think you'll ever enjoy this movie, given that no official photo's of this movie has been released and already bestowing negativity on this film, though clearly understandable.

...I'm just open to anything, that's all. Especially since they're trying to stay true to the source as possible. Unlike DBE and it's drastic changes. That movie was bad news since day one...

I'd rather be pleasantly surprised by this movie than disappointed. Hollywood has a more negative track record when it comes to TV/Comic/Anime/Whatever adaptions than it does positive.

I really wanted to enjoy DBE and I couldnt

There's a ranking when it comes to "adaptations" to some. I think it went...

Comic Books

Christopher Nolan....................................................Joel Schumacher

Video Games

Paul W.S. Anderson..................................................Uwe Boll

Tokusatsu, Anime, and Cartoons don't have one yet. I don't think anyway. Unless you want to say for toku adapts...

Steve Wang............................................................Bruce Kalish

But, considering there's only a handful of toku adapts (most of it coming from the 90s), its better not to rank it.

*shrugs*

As for anime live action...we got...hmmm...

Hokuto no Ken :laughs:
Guvyer
Speed Racer
Gundam :laughs:
City Hunter
Dragon Ball

...well...those are the only ones I've seen. Oh and PGSM doesn't count.
