Cartoon Network is getting REAL...with Reality Shows (No Joke)

I don't see what the problem is, when people thought KRDK was gonna be on CN nobody really had a problem, but when they decide to make live action shows of their own it's suddenly bad and suddenly they suck now with out seeing the shows they produce. And think of it this way, imagine if for whatever reason Cw4kids loses the chance for a possible future future Kamen rider adaptation to air on their network and Cartoon network picks it up Cn real would be a great place for it to fit in amongst other live action shows.
 

Well see there's a difference. THAT type of live-action show contains heroes in sophisticated costumes with lots of martial arts action, which is very suitable for kids, especially boys. Reality shows are not. If I find reality shows boring, I can't imagine how bored a KID would be to watch one.

Also, CN did live-action shows and movies of their own and they sucked. Check out Re-Animated and Out Of Jimmy's Ass...I mean...Head.

I don't mind live-action shows being on Cartoon Network, but I think they should not only put GOOD live-action shows, but also stuff that fits the network (such as sci-fi and superhero) so that they won't totally Jump The Shark.
 
Funny...I don't see Teletoon trying to compete with YTV and Family in the live action market (YTV and Family being respectively the Nick and Disney of Canada more or less). They air some movies like Beetlejuice and superhero movies (or cartoon adapted to movies like Scooby Doo).
 

I know they had Re-Animated and Out of Jimmy's Head in their programing block at some point or another...dunno if it's still playing or not.

Did you actually read the article? They're making reality shows FOR KIDS.
 
In none of those articles was there anythng that said Reality shows it just said live action. While those shows were bad Cartoon network definetly see's where they went wrong because they are definetly not the same network they were when those shows aired and they want try again.

Well that's Teletoon, Cartoon Network on the other hand has not had very good ratings in the past few years and they are being beaten by Nick and DIsney's live actions shows. Although that doesn't mean they are gonna do shows like those on Disney and nick, but if their ratings increase and they are good shows then that shouldn't be a problem. I think the Cartoon network now atleast deserves to try again, besides a couple of live actions shows don't suddenly make the network bad, and I also think that the CN shouldn't be held back because of their name.

In the end it won't matter what most of us think because were not the target audeince, because one show that's bad to an adult might not be bad to a kid. All I'm saying is let's not all go hate CN because they're trying to become more succesfull through trying something new. We need to wait and see what they create before we go shouting in the streets "CARTOON NETWORK IS DEAD!" Oh and let's not forget they still have alot of cartoons that have not premeired yet so you can still watch those when ever they premeire.

But kids will easily get bored of reality shows even if it was for kids. Take a look a reality shows on MTV and VH1. It's usually a group of people staying together in some place for a purpose or a contest and during the days they stay in, ridiculous drama occurs for some stupid reason. It's basically young adults who don't know each other going camping or staying together, but all on TV, with little to no entertainment value. Imagine if that type of show was what Cartoon Network is going for, but more kid-friendly.

I hope to GOD that the reality shows they're going for are totally different, and I mean COMPLETELY different. Not just in demographic, but in concept as well.

GOOD! But I hope we don't get another Re-Animated or Out of Jimmy's Ass again. If CN wants live-action, they should get third-party companies to do that cause they suck at making live-action of their own.
