Strictly speaking, none of the films mentioned here count as 'snuff films'. A snuff film means that someone was actually killed on camera. Even Faces of Death doesn't really fit that description, as almost all of the footage is faked.

Any 'snuff films' currently around are strictly underground, traded like child pornography. Watch the movie 8 Millimeter, that explains pretty much how things work.

Yah my mistake on the part :anime: I know that genuine Snuff films are probably being sold in the black market, I'm quite fascinated by this though. I'm currently watching a documentary on youtube called Do snuff movies exist? It's quite interesting.

Probably the closest thing to a snuff film that I've seen is probably one from the al qaeda beheadings, which obviously enough ain't a snuff. However, the sound of it all is fucken sickening!...

No, it was legit. People thought it was a snuff documentary and Ruggero Deodato was forced to appear before an Italian court with his lead actors to prove it was all staged. The same thing happened to the creator of the Guinea Pig Films, I believe, after Charlie Sheen saw The Flower Of Flesh And Blood at a party and thought it was real.

See if you can find any of the Guinea Pig Films, Knight, especially the one I just mentioned. They're all uber fucked up but with some of (if not the) best gore effects ever filmed.
