Can the Philippines make a decent tokusatsu?

I don't want them to make their own toku.

I just want them to show dubbed KR or Sentai just like before when we were kids. And I wish it gets popular as it did. When the kids grow up, they'll end up liking it like the way we do now.

Yep, not gonna happen because exporting the toys is far cheaper than risking licensing a series for production here.

But my production company would be sued by Toei if I did not indicate that Toei made the benchmark for Super Sentai and Kamen Rider in my project.

Do you really have to make it similar to Sentai/KR? Wouldn't you be able to start with less expensive (and indigenous) costumes and CGI?

I think in the end, toku is about people in costumes teaching kids about heroism and being proud of it.

Aiming for a series like Sport Ranger?

If what they like are romances and soap operas, why not play on them in a sci-fi setting and just make it a romantic soap opera-like show that happens to be a scifi tokusatsu with henshin heroes. Go for the audience and if its well written and done , you spin off an entire series unique to the Philippines that has a different theme once every series cycle (3 years). Just be better than Zaido.

Romance doesn't have to be lighthearted sappy stuff, look at Romeo and Juliet.

Do your own thing with Sentai or perhaps do a remake of Black laden with romance ,tragedy and the whole fighting brother storyline would be perfect for a soap opera remake. Just kidding on the last part ,but really play to the demographic.
