Boukenger VS Super Sentai - Talk Up!

after watching Boukenger for the whole year in widescreen, i was disappointed to see this team-up in fullscreen. kinda makes you feel like something was missing. does anyone else feel this way?

I dunno. I'm pretty nureral about the overall movie. I saw it in one sitting before classes today, with my limitied Japanese, here's what I liked, dont like and dont understand:

liked:

-Furabijo. Period. You cant go wrong With mai Wafu Azusa Yamamoto commin back to be cute and hot :D.

-Tsubasa and Hikaru-Sensei. one of my faivorite Rangers in one of my faivorite series and the king of pimps from said faivorite series come back for some more. I was really happy.

-Chronos. He was such a cool villian, he was one of those villians who is overpowered, yet, defetable by the team.

Dislikes:

-VERY poor character direction. You act like jackasses one minute, the next, you come to your sences without no narative as to why or how? and add to that, what the hell happend to some of the characters? one example of this is Furabiju and Hurricane Blue, they had some history with eachother and i'm suprised they didnt use that as somesort of plot device. PLOT HOLE POWER!!

-AkaRed. He was too much of a MaGuffin and a Deus Ex Machina to the Movie. The role could of been a role that Hikaru-sensei could of filled or brought back Big One from JAKQ again like Gao vs. Super sentai.

-Alot less big fanboy moments in the movie. Gao vs. Super Sentai was juat that: A filling Fanboy movie, but this one lacked that kind of power sadly.

-WHERE WAS EVERYONE ELSE'S MECHA/ZORDS!? WHERE?! sure, it was hella cool to see DaiVoyger fight off with a kick ass armor, but where's everyone else's mecha? T_T

-this movie DEFENETLY could of at least benifited with 10 more minutes of film. In thouse 10 minutes, they could of fleshed out some things just a bit more to a more satisfactiory level.

Don't Understand:

-what happend to Dekabreak? it seemed like he was a leader of somesort of orginzation or he was undercover. Can someone clarify what happend in that scene?

-why just the last 5 years rangers? could of at least benifited from a GaoRanger or a Timeranger at least..

oh well, overall, it was in the okay file. 3/5.

Watched it finally as a tribute to completing all Super Sentai. I did enjoy it.

I loved the scene at te SGS Museum where the 5 finally work together and meet up with AkaRed.

I'm glad to see THE RED STUNTMAN finally return as AkaRed, although I wish he would have had some more solo fight scenes but I figure the dude is getting old and you can tell he isn't as good as he once was.

Nanami looked great with the longer hair.

I thought this was a bit better than the 25th Anniversary considering alot of time wasn't dedicated to a clip show.

One thing I was dissapointed with was DekaRed's D-Magnums. The firing sound didn't sound as badass as it did in Dekaranger.

The Super Sentai Ball was jokes. Ironically enough I hated the Ball finisher in the early Sentai but I thought this was a great tribute to it.

Well, is it really confirmed that Yabe was the suit actor for Aka Red? If ever he suited up for the Red Spirit, then that explains his lame movements. Yabe is not that popular among suit actors and I think the best character he ever suited for was Kamen Rider Raia, who was immediately written off. Takaiwa Seiji should have been considered for the spot if Niibori was not included. Personally, I was also surprised at Aka Red's movements considering that the Japanese wiki stated that Niibori is his suit actor.

Super Sentai teaches us not only teamwork, but also sports. Take the case of the Super Sentai Ball. After feuding over each other's weaknesses, the veteran sentai warriors finally got their acts together just like in a sports team. They showed teamwork using that multi-faceted Super Sentai Ball. It started with Aka Red saying "Supaa Sentai Ball. Ready? Go!" as if he owns that ball or he's the point guard of a basketball team. The warriors who utilized that ball into a powerful force also showed some skills and spunk. After receiving a "basketball pass" from Aka Red, Magi Yellow hit it like a "baseball," then Abare Black kicked the ball as if he's playing "soccer" towards Deka Break, who hit it with his left hand as if he's playing "handball" or simply practicing with a boxing ball. Then, the ball went to Hurricane Blue's hands and held it as if she's ready for a "volleyball" serve. The end result had Bouken Silver kicking it like a soccer ball (it is a soccer ball after all) with a "billiards" kick and the Curse fell one by one as if they're "bowling pins." That's what you call a Dream Fight (Yume no Kyoen). Then they all said, "Good Job!" Now, where's the pay?

This is officially my 500th post here on HJU. My first one dealt with the identity of Aka Red as either Time Red, Magi Red, or Gao Red, and my 500th says something about the Super Sentai Ball and unity/teamwork through sports as shown by the veteran sentai warriors plus Aka Red, a Red Warrior born from a wish of peace.

Is it bad that I didn't even notice this until I read your post?

Overall, I didn't really enjoy the movie as much as I thought I would. But, I'm probably messed up in it because I was honestly wanting anything Gao vs. SS, which I adore.
