Boukenger VS Super Sentai - Talk Up!

Tetsu was dealing with yakuza alienizer things. To be bad ass, throwing someone out a window made more sense then kicking him out the door.

Especially when working on a shady deal like that. Wanna get rid of the evidence.

I was pretty underwhelmed, though the boosted level of badassery of the bad guys was cool. And hey, anything featuring Nanami is cool with me.

Still, while I like the concept of a ranger embodying all the red senshi, the only thing I could think of during his fight scenes was "....gameshark ranger!" And seriously, Akared? So is there an Aoblue, a Kiyellow, and a Midogreen? ;P

The Super Sentai address book bit was both funny and ridiculous.

And the rest of it... fun, but it really didn't measure up to Gao vs. SS, even though half of that was clipshow. I felt like this was just another teamup, and that they would have gotten just as much out of Boukenger vs. Magiranger. Hell, take out the "search for help" segment and replace the "lending our sentai spirit" bit at the end with "lending you our magic power" and it really wouldn't have been that different.

Well, except for GamesharkRed.

What a great special to celebrate sentai's 5th anniversary!! :buttrock: Toei sure pulled out all the stops to celebrate sentai's full, rich 5 years of history with this one.

I kept waiting for akared to say 'akared, ikimasu!!'

especailly when dealing with the Yakuza hahahaa

So the Boukenger were trapped in the Marudeyouna Sekai where Magi Shine (Sungel) and Memmy (Raigel) fought there Duel Bond.

Uh no, The Boukenger and Hikaru were trapped in Chronos small dimension/Pocketwatch.

Memmy was revived at the place he was destoryed, and I don't recall seeing the Boukenger lounging around there.

And yeah, Other than the Mecha Finisher and the Red Senshi spirits that form Akared, This really did seem like the "Fifth anniversary" of Sentai. Granted I wanted them to have some time to shine since they did follow Gaoranger Vs Super Sentai, but given everything pre Gaoranger the cold shoulder really didn't help the anniversary special any.

It's so improper, not to mention, inaccurate to call this special as a "fifth anniversary" type just because the past 5 warriors from the past 4 consecutive sentai helped the Boukenger. This looks like a multi team-up of sorts just like what happened in Super Sentai World but in no way does this signify a "fifth anniversary" type of movie even if 5 consecutive teams, including the Boukenger, had at least a single representative. The premise has been established right from the very start that the Gogo Sentai is the 30th Super Sentai and the spirits of the 30 Super Sentai are being relished. Aside from that, Aka Red has been talking about things like the 30 Red Warriors.

You see, the emphasis placed on this movie is about the spirits of the Super Sentai throughout the past 30 seasons. That is they really don't have to put a representative from the past decades just to show that this is a 30th anniversary movie. It's about faith and the belief that 30 sentai had been saving the world from bad guys for the past 30 seasons and their spirits are so powerful that it can obliterate Chronos and his Unholy Trinity Girl Power of 3 Charmed Staff. This movie is about the eternal spirits of Super Sentai. It is also Aka Red's way of saying, "Yes Virginia, there are 30 Super Sentai and this is a 30th anniversary celebration even if the warriors you'll be seeing are less than 30 years old and one of them is the driver of the Polar Express, oh I mean the Travelion, rather."

By the way, did Gaja said that he would like Tsue Tsue to be the queen of Godom? Tsue Tsue called him "dad" or "old man." And hey, who said that there is no representative from the past decades of Super Sentai? Don't forget that the Big One is here! Didn't we just saw The Big One from Gaja Dengekitai fly up in the air like a rocketship?:anime:

Aka Red can somehow be compared to Tenkuu Ninja Shurikenger of Ninpuu Sentai Hurricanger in some ways. First of all, they don't have exact human identities. They use disguises. Aka Red disguises himself in past Red Warrior forms while Shurikenger uses human forms as his disguises, which includes actors of past Red Warriors. Another thing is that they both speak with authority and a mysterious tone. Aka Red speaks as if he is the personification of Super Sentai or Super Sentai itself and as if he owns the Super Sentai franchise and even has the Super Sentai Address Book to boot. Shurikenger, on the other hand, speaks as if he's the ultimate ninja or the spirit of ninjutsu. In fact, he calls himself the "Ninja of Ninja." Also, both appear and vanish away mysteriously. Of course, the movie didn't show how Aka Red went home but it's self-explanatory already. Otherwise, we will be seeing Aka Red drinking red tea in the SGS Headquarters. Shurikenger is the Sky (Heavenly) Ninja so his origins must be up there above the Earth's atmosphere. Aka Red came from above too. Shurikenger calls himself as THE GREEN LIGHT BULLET. Aka Red came down on Earth like a RED LIGHT BULLET OR A RED STREAK OF LIGHT. Lastly, if Shurikenger has a Fire Mode, Aka Red has one too, by virtue of his "Magi Red Red Fire" attack and "Gao Red Blazing Fire" move. Of course, both Magi Red (Burning Flame Element) and Gao Red (Blazing Lion) have fires as their symbols. On top of those, Aka Red is Red and Shurikenger is Green. Red and green are complimentary colors.
