People act like everything is dubbed by 4Kids these days, tho..

I'm just being honest, this series is a bigger challenge than Gash, which had a forced name change because of an untranslatable word pun in the first episode. And Viz Media has hacked up Konjiki no Gash Bell!! to make its content more acceptable. I don't expect anything different from Boboboubo Boubobo, it'll be even worse, because the show is purely jokes, there's no real action. That's how Boboboubo Boubobo fights actually, with jokes and parodies, the narration tends to speak in a serious tone as if it were some fighting anime, but it's purely done for sarcasm. As well as Boubobo and other characters. As I've said the show is extremely random, and has characters talking serious one second, the next second imitating a schoolgirl or a small boy. Boubobo's dialogue is the toughest as he tends to voice the characters in his jokes which is quite of variety of characters at times. And not to mention Don Pacchi, who is an awesome character. This show is an extreme challenge, and I don't think the American industry is prepared to do such a show.

Good points, one and all.

"Hacked" is a strong word I only use in woefully unfortnate instances such as poor, poor One Piece where entire episodes are lost and important shots are shuffled about horridously.... and Sanji's voice, my God.... :bawling:

Zatch Bell I'm liking. Most music is left untouched, we got good voice acting, edits are light and hardly noticable.

Again... all depends on who's handling it. I don't doubt it'll be a challenge tho.

Kyusaku hit all the right points.

I doubt that this can be dubbed without losing the funny. There are actual jokes in Bobobobobobo that made me laugh out loud. Even reading the manga made me almost piss my pants. Lets just hope this dub will transvey that same funny.

Zatch Bell I'm liking. Most music is left untouched, we got good voice acting, edits are light and hardly noticable.

The edits are not light, most of the music has been removed, the edits are HIGHLY NOTICABLE TO ANY Konjiki no Gash Bell!! fan. As they ruin character concepts such a Parco Folgore who is suppose to be a womanizing superstar that sings about fondling womens' breasts. Instead they change the song that's suppose to be a running gag into a dumb introduction song. The series has around 10 insert songs just in the first 15 episodes which for the most part has been pretty much removed. You call that untouched? Please don't talk about things you don't know about.

Say your ****, if you know it and then allow the person to appreciate your knowledge and help instead of regretting asking.

All I'm saying is that your knowledge is valuable and could be appreciated, but bringing it how you do and continually trying to "PWN" someone with what you know makes a person rather you turn your knowledge sideways and shove it.

Otherwise I'd be MORE than happy to know what edits were made where and how glaring they are.

As for the edits being not noticable, well, see... I'm not a Gash no Bell fan, so I don't notice when they happen. But for Yu-Gi-Oh or some such... I don't have to be a fany to see and hear the edits.

Some edits are necessary for American television, but for me, what's more important is that the story come through. Important themes of how Zatch wants to battle to become King and do what's right, the friendship that Zatch and Kiyo share all come across.... the Old Man facing down the gangster's gun in order to protect art.... Suzy's refreshing cluelessness... and the tragic fall of other Momodos that fight valiantly.

That's what counts for me. Not an editted out shotguns or knowing that that crackhead Paco Fulgore likes to touch boobies. He's already enough a of a moronici ladies' man.

Edits happen when ya cross cultures like this. Some understandable. Others like with poor One Piece and Yu-Gi-Oh... "hacks" and unnecessary.

So Horoko, what did you think of the transition of Boboboubo Boubobo, when it changed from an early evening show to an early morning show? Me and a few friends found that after the transition some of the comedy was lost, and had some less than great episodes. But once in while still had some pretty outrageous episodes, just not as often.
