Incorrect.

The accurate term is global climate change, and while the trend is for the planet on the whole to get warmer, the main thing that happens is that climate trends are amplified. So warm, dry regions will tend to get warmer with less rainfall overall, cold climates will tend toward greater cold. The extremes in climate get dragged further out.

The UK and Northern Europe should probably invest in parkas. Canada should probably invest in beer.
