Best Comics for Those Who Prefer Prose Over Pictures?

[MartianManhunter51]

I've always been more of a reader when it comes to prose and have dipped my toes into a few graphic novels like "Persepolis" and "Maus." However, I'm curious if there are comic series or graphic novels that read more like novels and might appeal to someone who isn't used to the traditional comic format. Any recommendations for stories with rich narratives and less emphasis on superhero tropes?

If you're looking for rich narratives, I'd recommend "Sandman" by Neil Gaiman; it's deeply literary and weaves mythology and various human experiences in a way that feels more like prose than traditional comics. On the other hand, I found "Saga" to rely a bit too heavily on its sci-fi elements and didn't resonate with me as much, but I know it has a strong following for its storytelling.
