Benta Confirms Power Rangers Animated In "Negotiation"

I'm not saying I know anything, but... from... what I might have heard, the reason is because the show was getting more expensive to do than Disney's willing to pay. They moved to New Zealand because it was cheaper and affordable.

But because of this or that, it's no longer cheap to shoot in New Zealand and fast approaching more expensive.

Soooo.... to keep the franchise going, they're switching to animated, but nope.... Toei's not exactally happy about it.

Not saying I know anything......>___>

Well, there's a solution to that...

FILM IN MEXICO! :D

Well if I'm Toei I say screw Disney. I'm taking my footage and giving it to another company. I mean what would be the point of Toei continue to sell it to Disney when thier not using it.

Thank you and goodnight. Well... Power Rangers was nice while it lasted. Looks like it won't be around for much longer. Guess we should hope to god that Jungle Fury gives us a season to remember.

I enjoyed being a PR fan and sad to see the series go. I have no faith in an animated venture and I strongly feel it spells the downfall of Power Rangers.

I almost want to say PROO killed it. Maybe if they just stuck to doing what they do, producing the show for as cheap as possible then maybe it would survive and stay around. But no. Bye power rangers. You'll be missed.

Power Rangers has been dead since Disney took over/Ninja Storm started. THAT'S my opinion.

Goodbye, Power Rangers and GO TO HELL, DISNEY.

I don't think Power Rangers would died. It just be called some thing else for another company. A least if I'm Toei. lol

Quality of the show isn't what did it, it's how much the show costs to make is what's doing it in.

I dunno. I think I said this once before, but an animated series has some potential. I mean, with an animated series, they would have the freedom to use all sorts of characters from past or present, as well as old mecha, without having to worry about footage. They could bring back all of the old rangers and villains and not worry about hiring back the old actors and what have you.

Still, half the charm of "Tokusatsu Hero" programming is that it's live action. As it is now, Power Rangers is currently one of a kind in the States. I would hate to see it become just another cartoon.

I agree completely with the above.

With an animated show they've a lot of potential to go all out and take the show to absolutely any location and all sorts of stuff. But the biggest thing is that the show was one of a kind. And if they do manage to make it into a good cartoon... it'll just be another good cartoon.

We do have Kamen Rider to look forward to at least...

:bawling: 8( All that is pure and good in this may be at an end. If it's true i'll give it the benefit of doubt, but if it sucks I totally agree with ForeverRed.

Here a question for everyone here. If Disney goes ahead with an anime and say Toei takes thier business else where. Which would you watch? The anime or a live action show done by another company under a different name?
