Beauty and Cosmetics 101

I mean, sometimes when I apply the mascara, little clumps of black mascara will come off of the wand and onto my lashes. Its not hard to remove them, but still...no one likes clumpy lashes.

That being said I still prefer Lash Blast. You could also try "Sexy Curves" mascara by "Rimmel".

Eyeshadow:

As I was saying earlier, Rimmel has an amazing selection of 'vibrant' colours, and L'oreal also has a good line called, "L'Oreal Hip" duos.

Basically you can use any colours together as long as you keep this in mind:

1. Medium colour on the lid
2. Darker colour in the crease
3. Highlight colour on the brow bone.

And blending is essential so you don't have harsh lines.

This is a good video to watch:

Aaaah I get ya on that.

Sexy Curves, Lash Blast, and Rimmel gotcha I'm gonna trust you on that.

That video, like the other ones you gave me, was VERY helpful. But quick question: Since I have a copper-ish skin tone, should I use a base color thats slightly lighter than the desired appearance I want? Or will it work just fine regardless?

And I assume blush is pretty much the same basic principles as eye shadow?

You know getting in touch with my feminine side is wonderful and all but it reminds me that I haven't really bought an outfit yet.

Thank you Bolt, now get out of my thread

Haha, I just mean that women can sit there for an hour or more getting ready to go somewhere when really it doesn't make that much of a difference. My girlfriend won't even go to the store without putting on mascara... why?

Acne...not my friend. I don't have it bad, I just have it on my nose which is weird because they just won't go away, there not blackheads or the red ones or white heads. They blend with my skin, they just look like soft bumps. When I feel my nose it feels fine, but in the mirror you can see them.

Proactive doesn't work for me, neither does benzoyl poroxide, which was from my doctor. I think I going to try Neutrgena. Has anyone tried it? or Clearasil?

Just in case if you still having trouble with acne or any kind of skin care. You should this out:

Bolt, a lot of it is culture. I was shocked when I went to Korea in '99 and people dressed up just to go to the market - and I mean like the down-the-road, 7/11 kind of market.

As for the mascara, it depends. Quick fixes like putting some concealer on, or mascara, or lipgloss will liven up your look and maybe you'll run into someone that you don't want to look like you just rolled out of bed. But more importantly, it's to make one feel good. Now I'm not going to get into that whole, "you should feel good always and whatnot regardless of what you have on, clothes or makeup-wise" debate; it's not what I'm saying.

That being said, I am more a natural looks kind of girl - I dislike the gunk and mess and usually hate fussing with makeup and the whatnot. To me, makeup is a practical necessity for those times that really call for it. Thank God my bf feels the same way. :)

It's kind of like - just doing it for yourself. You look good, you know you do, and you feel good. Period.

Ladies, back me up or correct me if I'm the only one with this view.

I agree with Mara. Its for yourself.

Putting on makeup make me feel feminine, and its one of the things that I can buy that doesn't have anything to do with my weight. Example: I see a pretty shirt on a skinny girl. I know I could never wear that, due to my weight. I see a pretty eyeshadow on a girl...I can TOTALLY pull that off and make it look good.

Also, make up can be a form of art. Not every girl can put on make up well.I take pride in the fact that I do my make up well, and look damn good with it on.

Only part of me wearing make up has to do with looking nice for Faiz, because in all honesty I don't think he cares whether I wear it or not, which is nice; it means I can be lazy and keep a fresh face and he won't mind.

But when I wear make up, it makes me feel good and more confident about myself. And it's not about hiding anything...its about highlighting some of my best features, imo.

For oily skin, try these:

I used to use them all the time, and there are other brands you can find at your local pharmacy/drugstore. They really do work, and I liked them, I even got a dude at work to try them out.

Can you use these after you've done applied acne treatment on your face? Cause my face is quick to deploy oil after I'm done washing my face and all of that junk.

That makes sense. I'm just used to girls that wear too much at all times and becomes part of their face, and not in a good way. It probably took way longer to put on me cause I squirmed a lot, but I doubt it's a short amount of time for any girl and I figured there had to be a damn good self-esteem reason for them to want to go through the trouble once or even multiple times a day.

I hardly get to wear make up at all anymore, seeing as I work in a kitchen where you sweat your balls off.

And I rarely wear over the top, caked on make up, because I never go anywhere that warrants it.

Wearing make up for me anymore has become like getting to wear a new pair of shoes or getting to play a new video game; seldom happens and I like it when it does.

I was walking down the strrets of Toronto, and know this, that not too many girls wear make-up. I saw a few with some black eyeshadows, but most of them didn't really stood out.
