Batman The Animated Series VS The Batman

Alright. Let's talk about the both show.

IMO... Batman: TAS > The Batman. Why?

THE BATMAN IS HORRIBLE! That show doesn't have a plot and look how horrible the villains are!!!

Batman: TAS had excellent plot and excellent villains. It has a dark story also! I love that series. Good thing that I have Volume 1 box sets! w00t!

Now what's your thought on both shows?

Oh and I enjoy "Batman The Gotham Knight." Awesome series with Tim Drake.

No contest.

But I do see why they went with the new one. To me, everything about it looks great and seems like a good idea on paper.

If the B:TAS didn't exist, I think this show would be much better recieved. But since it does... the Shadow is just to great for this new series to ever have a chance on its own.

Modernised versions of Classic Cartoons are usually crap!! For Example: the 1980's version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles PWNS the 2000's version, and Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation!!

So I put my vote on Batman: The Animated Series!! I'm not a big fan of Batman, but I do think he is awesome and I liked Batman: The Animated Series back in the time (it was on channel Pro 7 in Germany).

The Campy 1970's version with Adam West has to be my favorite though!! :D

I've seen like 3 eps of "The Batman" and find it retarded. I really hate how they "updated" the villians. I mean come on, Joker with dreds? Stupid. The original joker design protrayed his image better, with the pinstrip suits. He showed he was a madman, but still a criminal mastermind. I saw the episode with The Penguin and was surprised they didn't "update" him. Also saw an ep with Mr Freeze. My biggest problem is that they protray Bruce as so young, yet, place him smack dab center of the Batman continuity. They have no originality. Why can't they just make new villians for him to fight than just taking classic enemies and "updating" them. They're like going backwards but forward at the same time. They kind of ruin it for hardcore fans.

Yup.

This is The Batman: Beginnings, if you will.

I like the updated stuff, it's just when you have the classic one looming over it, it ends up looking like crap.

I think the show's better than it gets credit for, but it just can't hold a candle to the titan that was its predecessor.

Isn't The Batman supposed to be a prequel of sorts? Hence Bruce being younger?

Yeah that's why I say they're going backwards and forward at the same time. Young Bruce = backward, Updated villians = forward.

I respect both shows equally but I chose Batman: The Animated series because of many reasons...

The Batman is actually pretty good and I'm really liking the series. This is a new take on the bats so everything from BTAS has nothing to do with this series. One reason why I like Batman is because of the new designs. I actually prefer The Batman designs over Batman: The Animated Series.
