Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes

For the Avengers, but maybe Mockingbird might get a new costume too.

Hrrm. I hope they don't monkey with their looks too much. I can see doing that for Iron Man (rewire the 70's suit with new tech Tony!) and for Wasp. But their Cap design is just fine and so is everybody else really. Hell, they even made Ant-Man's costume look cool just by giving his classic design a tweak here and there.

For some reason, Ant-man's costume design (Marvel's version) is better than Ultimates version.

I also liked both version of Cap's costume.

So after finishing the show here are my thoughts:

Fun show, I did not like the character designs but as soon as I saw the trailer at SDCC last year I knew it would be fun. Not a huge fan of the idea of Norse Mythology in the Marvel Universe so not a big fan of Thor but for the most part I didn't mind him. What I think the show succeeded very well in was that most threats the Avengers faced indeed felt like huge threats that "holy crap only a team of elites like the Avengers could have faced that", which is hard to do when you have a whole season worth of shows. I mean I can't say Justice League handled it as well when it came to threats, not all of them felt like "only because the worlds greatest heroes were together did they succeed". Sadly Young Justice completely overshadowed Avengers for me and I can't get as excited as I should be since I'm just enjoying YJ much more. I absolutely loved Wasp, and NEED a figure of her. Why is there no toyline for this show, I need animated Wasp! I think I'm in the minority but I felt the season finale of Avengers was fairly weak, did not like it at all, especially since it was the season long arc, I mean it wasn't much of a mystery when early in the season we saw the shadow of Loki's freaking helmet...

Statistically, someone has to not like Avengers. That said...it's difficult to get into Young Justice. I don't actually...like those guys. Plus I find the concept of another DCAU (one that gets more than 4 series this time) far more interesting than these "teenagers with attitude".

With the Young Justice cartoon I know those characters would be plenty likable if the "attitude" part wasn't being hammered so hard it chokes all the fun out of it. I think the show is just far too focused on trying to make them hip and edgy.

Instead of having the kids dealing with the weight of the legacy they must live up to and showing the veteran heroes as the not only the legends that they are but good people passing their skills and wisdom to the next generation, the whole thing just seems to completely run on "YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND ME, MOM!" which is obnoxious and tiresome.

Fantastic show

Great plot

Excellent characterisation

Good start

Great ending

Looks nice

It was really good...I now fear it's going to be axed, as that's what they keep doing to good shows of late

I believe they've got set at three and only three seasons.

(Or am I getting it mixed up with Brave and the Bold?)
