Are there any accepted phrases that bother you?

Lately I've noticed an odd rise in the usage of the phrase "calling you out" when people refer to bringing up a rather deep topic with another person. I don't what exactly it is about it, but it just feels wrong to me. When people use the term, I really just end up thinking it sounds silly.

And, not so much a phrase, but a word, calling another person "fake" seems to be something people have said a lot in the last ten years or so and...I kinda blame reality TV here. I don't see what's so hard about calling another person disingenuous instead of something as clunky sounding as "fake".

Not really a phrase, but I don't think the word swagger has any swagger. The "swa" sound just makes it sound ridiculous and childish. The word is just... fake.

"Fake" rolls off of the tongue better than disingenuous. And most people dont have to look up the word 'fake'. lol

Any phrase can be nitpicked. Like, 'Whats up?' and the inevitable smartass answer 'the sky'.
Gets old after 20 years but people still say it. Though I condense it to 'wattup'. lol

I hate how some refer to fighting as "scrapping". It's always been a pet peeve of mine.

I've grown deathly sick of the phrase "throw (someone) under the bus". This is probably a sign that I watch too much reality TV.

YEESSS! Im goin to go with this answer since I couldnt think of any. About a year ago, I went through a whole semester constantly hearing the same 3-4 people saying 'FAIL!' every freakin day. And it bled out into the next sem, luckily, I didnt really have studio with them anymore. But everytime I hear it, it annoys me like no other.

Not phrases, but people who insist on uses "zie" and "zir" to refer to a person of ambiguous gender instead of "he or she" or "his or hers" drive me up the goddamn wall.
